How Bad is What Mike Perry Did?

Not sure as I don't know all the details. From reading here it sounds like charges won't be brought unless chubby dude presses charges as part of an attempt to obtain monetary damages.

In response to those calling for his suspension or banning from the ufc. If athletes were barred from earning a living in their field of expertise because of their behavior outside of the sport, one could remove about a third of 'legends' of those respective sports. Particularly those who participated before the days of social media and cameras everywhere.

This happened in texas right? He had no duty to retreat and could even use deadly force to defend himself.

I see no crime from mike perry other than skipping his bill and the district attorney could prosecute the other guy for assault.
 
Well it shows he has no self control. Pretty bad look for a mma fighter. On the other hand I have no clue what you would expect running up within striking distance on a man who's threating to hurt you...

Again, I'm not saying what he did was right and that was his girlfriend right siding with the crowd? Did this happen before or after getting her a brand new car? If after she's pretty easily pleased after witnessing that then getting a car and acting like nothing happened.

This isn't a good look but I wouldn't say this is a Conor situation. Even if that old dude didn't know who Mike Perry was it was clear if he went after him he would have got the hands and so he got what was coming to him when you try to fight a ghetto thug.

No matter what words someone uses, there is no excuse to assault them. Especially by a trained fighter. Mike Perry's behavior completely escalated that entiere situation from the beginning.

Perry had every opportunity to remove himself from that situation but instead chose to make it worse.

This logic hurts my brain. So you should let people do with you as they please including running towards you in a provoking way?
 
This is bound to happen when "famous" fighters mingle with "normals".
Perry would fit like a glove in rizin BTW, Perry vs sapp nye.
 
As a trained fighter you should probably be able to restrain an old man without beating his ass. And a grown man crying that someone touched him in a bar that's probably dark and loud? There's insecurity and there's that shameful display.

No impulse control. I can't imagine Machida or Maia ever doing this. I mean, everyone has their pressure moments but I'm not sure the fat fellow even touched him.

Because of Perry's character, he was in that situation to begin with. 99.9% of MMA fighters are able to go out into public without getting into fist fights. This is at least the second such time Perry has been caught on video getting into fights with the general public in the last year.
 
He wasn't jailed and you could even argue it was in self defense. Luckily the alleged attack on the waiter wasn't caught on camera either. At worst Perry looks like a dickhead who made a big scene out of nothing and then proceeded to punch an old guy in the name of self defense
