I know in Heavyweight combat sports, one move can change or end an entire fight. But truth be told this guy is the most complete heavyweight MMA fighter to compete since the GREAT
MR FEDOR EMELIANENKO

He has one shot fight ending power
An elite chin (we know due to Sergei fight)
Great boxing
Great MMA grappling, with fight ending ability and pedigree on the ground.

Blahh blahh yeah I know the guy is technically UFC HW champ already, but I'm taking it way further.
He doesn't have to deal with Frank , JBJ or a miocic type (which I think he beats all 3 IMO)

I think he will go undefeated for at least a decade and cement himself as the greatest MMA heavyweight, anything less than that (unless due to medical stuff or whatever) is a HUGE disappointment for his skill set.
I know the fight game can be weird and odd, but he doesn't need a super fight if he continues putting up the performances he's capable of

I can see where the comparison is coming from, especially considering that he has this skill set on a true natural heavyweight frame.
I only hope that he stays injury free, as there is a large difference between a proven GOAT like Fedor and a potential theoretic one like Cain.

He is really good. Even jon could see that. There is a reason he avoided him. He has the potential for sure. Probably needs to get less dumb tats or maybe thats how u move up the ranks im not sure

He said in interviews that he doesn't care about being the GOAT. A part of the reason he fights is for the money, which will be a hefty sum over time as champ.

I agree that Aspinall has all the tools to be the greatest MMA HW ever. Time will tell whether he'll live up to it.

Some other things setting him apart are his movement and hand speed. There has never been a 250+ lbs HW with this kind of athleticism.

I think Ngannou had better pure athleticism than Tom but didn't have his ground game credentials of course.

Although, he did look very scary when he sprawled and reversed on Stipe in their 2nd fight. That Ngannou vs Tom would have been quite the matchup.

Him not having to deal with HW's like Francis and Stipe is exactly why he won't ever really be considered a HW GOAT no matter how long he goes undefeated, he'll always be looked at as a big fish in a small pond. If Tom isn't taking down Gane and picking him up and dumping him with ease like Francis did or ends up getting pieced up in the striking against Gane then there is NO WAY Tommy is beating Francis.

I don’t know

He’s the most complete & all around intimidating fighter since Cain imo

But if he fights 7-8 more times & loses a couple of them he probably won’t be the “undisputed goat” but I doubt he’ll be seen a HUGE disappointment either

He’s 32 and his best win is Curtis Blaydes.

His next opponent has glaring holes in his game, that were already exploited by other fighters years ago.

Tom is awesome, but your legacy is your level of competition first and foremost. He might retire without fighting a single big name opponent, and it kinda sucks.

What kind of jerk off thread was this?! Tom is still relatively green. He's the intern champion and he has zero defenses, Tom and Fedor shouldn't be brought up together in the same sentence.

Can't see him doing it.

He's already 32, even if he's got another 7 or 8 years as an elite, Dana has let the legends he needs to beat to claim HW GOAT status go.

Dana could never close the deal on the biggest possible fights in MMA, and has consistently fumbled the ball on all of them.

That's gonna screw Aspinall over IMO.

Also, by the time a really compelling challenger emerges, 35/36 year old Tom will be boxing.

The current guys and their philosophy will continue to fuck the most lucrative division in the sport.
