Homegym MEGA Thread

Got my BoS seal row pad. Seems like a quality product and I haven't found anything to complain about. Probably makes more sense for someone with more rack posts available, but I am okay with swapping things around. @Fahcough was on to something saying that BoS is overtaking Titan. Looked at Titan's site the other day and saw their "up to 40% off" sale. Didn't see a single thing that was actually 40% off though.

Really liking these cone shaped cable attachment grips for a bunch of movements. They should cost about half of what they do, but I couldn't find a knock off version of them so I paid the $60.

Noticed over the past year Titan has been going quieter. Not responding to critical reviews, not advertising anything, the interview with Coop just turned to utter shit lies. The Loyal T system was crushed and they did not replace it with the rewards they promised. Prices steady going up with laughing 5% off sales. They about to flop.
Bells should buy them out and rebrand all their stuff ... or put every bit of it in the blemish sale :D

I have my eye on this. I'll do some more research to see if there's anything similar. Maybe you all know something.

stared at the pic for a good 30 seconds and can't figure out how the pulleys glide. Or why it's $450

Anyone have knee sleeve recommendations? I've had a pair of 7mm Rehbands for over a year now. They air out after every workout and get washed weekly. Still starting to get a perma stink to them and some stitching is coming loose. I have shitty knees so I like to wear them throughout a workout instead of getting super stiff ones that I would need to pull down between sets.

That’s crazy, I’ve abused my Rehbands and they seem to have held up. People rave about SBD’s, and I think it’s what most powerlifters like, but I haven’t tried them.

Have those Nordic ones they sent, not much squeeze to them. Hardly put them on.
Amazon 7mm Nisrok are the fave. Easy on / some leg hair removal to get them off. Has compression but can leave on entire workout with cutting off circulation. Slide them down for box jumps bc they restrict movement.

I use the Odin triple ply from Strengthshop. I've had them probably six years and they've held up great. They're not neoprene.

Welcome to April, still debating when to actually start this years cut that was set for Jan, Feb, and March. May sounds like a great real starting point.

I've had my old blue Rehbands for 10 years now and they are still good to go. My wife washes them every week or they smell but it's crazy how they have lasted this long. Ive wanted to try SBD's but I can't just ditch my Rehbands while they still have a lot of fight in them. Not after all we've been through!

Quick outdoor project yesterday. Under the turf track is a rock base. Time, rain and constant dropping weights on stall mat is making craters. Getting dangerous on ankles, there are holes all around footing area.
2 sheets, stall mat, gallon of sealer, 4 bags of leveling sand and 90 min later. Built a 2nd platform outside, should be semi weather proof.
Also had to extend out 6 inches due to overhang, keep the plywood from snapping on the edge. Don't expect to be able to use it in dead heat of summer, probably will have to cheap turf the entire base for heat deflection.

My woman bought me a cambered American bar from EliteFTS, the one where all the handles are angled. And I didn't even ask for it. How about that? I love the bar, but my only thing is, there is zero knurling on it. Is there any kind of grip tape or something you bros would recommend to give it at little grip?

Sounds like a nice lady. I have that same bar and it helped me through a bout of shoulder pain on bench. I've tried using athletic tape on a couple of different things for grip and it never really worked out, but it was just cheap tape from Walmart. For that bar I would usually just chalk up if my hands were too sweaty.

I think knurling is overrated
Depends what you using it for I guess. I like the smooth axle bar until hands get sweaty, not a fan of aggressive center knurling on squats. REP is putting upper-medium on everything, which makes the lat pull down and trap bar really dig into your hands. Someone should troll Coop and put agro knurl on a pull up bar.

The right ratio of sweat and chalk goes a long way

I just purchased some Nike Romaleos 3 that I found for a good price online (latest model is 4). My previous Adidas squat shoes served me well for about 3 years until I forgot them at the gym one day. They apparently disappeared when I asked the next day (big commercial gym). So someone really stole a 3 year old pair of shoes with all kinds of stains and velcro damage that goes for like $70 when brand new lol. Wild. The Romaleos have a 0.75mm drop, which is the standard for Olympic weightlifting, whereas the Adidas I believe were 0.6mm. Have been lifting in flat Vans without the insole the past few months and haven’t really noticed any large differences. I’m acceptably flexible, but curiosity got the best of me, we’ll see how they feel.

Not sure who's into sandbaggin but just stumbled across this brand for 1st time. All bags are $60, no prices jumps between size. APE brand. They had the odd 175lb one that brought to light. Don't know anything about them but it's not hard to make a 2-ply velcro bag. And it's definitely not $150 to do it.

I may have to start doing sandbags like I do farmers walks. 50-100ft at a time with various weights. Need to find a place to keep them though. $60 is not a bad price. Weird that they didn't update the bundle price, 8 bags is still $800.

I love em. Same exercises you already do with a massive amount of core injected in it. Carry, squat, throw, shoulder, pick up/put down, just dead weight. You can pile them in a corner like a snowman, they don't leak out.
The gap between 150 & 200 is too big for some lifts. 200 won't go up when out of breath and 150 moves too quick for heavy drills.
