Wild ass hair had me trying to slap a quick mock-style car deadlift inside the rack with a single post feed. Didn't like the design where the weight was so close, it was nothing but a complicated landmine DL .
Scratched it and started a "wall mountable" frame. To pick it up and get it out the way. Kept thinking on where the weight would sit to mimic wheels and weight, handles had to be within comfort grab but I also wanted a straight bar on the front. It started getting too much involved for busy life. Put it in the back of my scratch pad for later.

There was a bench press and multi gym thing there when we did a walk around before putting the offer in. The last communique we had was for her to sell everything and bin the rest as the seller went from 'you can have everything, I just want £1k for the settee as it is worth £3.5k new' to 'I want £1.3k for everything' and the pettiness with me and the wife came out.

Still, more space to work with.

I'm trying to work out if I should get a squat rack / power rack over a concept 2 rower first.
The workplace gym is only 4 miles down the road so really I don't need either, but if it is just THERE I'm less inclined to not put the time in before or after a long ass day.

Friend said he was going to build a homegym so I let him know when I saw a deal on used equipment. He got a 6 post Fray Fitness rack with a lat pulldown/low row attachment, bench, some accessories, bar, and 280lbs of bumper plates for $2000.

Now he's buying other stuff new and I think he wishes he would have went with Rogue for the rack instead. Two grand for what he got seemed like a good deal to me though. It's 3x3 with 1 inch holes so I don't see what there would be to complain about other than the branding.

Fray was having constant holiday sales, still up into last week. Like 50% of racks. Slap him. Twice. Rogue rack would have been double or triple price, and no bench, bar or plates included.

I'm going to look at a second hand squat rack today which will come with a 7 and 9 ft bar, crappy bench, a weight tree and maybe 130kg of cast iron plates.
If they aren't too bad that should last me for under £300. In reality, the base gym is only 4 miles away so deadlifts I can do there still and I can buy a few more plates for the squats for not a lot.
I just need some way for GHRs and some other bits (maybe a better dip and pull up thing as my one is a portable one that only goes to 130kg) and I hopefully will be set.

Last Friday was so miserably cold (wind chill below zero) then I went online, found a local gym, filled out the form for a free trial day, and went there instead of my garage.
 
Tell me about your drawers.

Looking for a pair of flexible, breathable, not spandex, briefs. All mine keep ripping the buhhole open after a month or 2 of squats. It might just be the Hanes brand, they seem to have a small surface area for ass and it's ripping the threads open under the nuts.

I got Kirkland brand from Costco several months back. No holes like I've always had with Hanes or Fruit of the Loom.

I buy so many packs, throw 1 pair away and give the unused to son. Can't find a pair that won't creep up legs all day long either. Only way they'll stay down is the snip the elastic band around the thigh

It was OK. It was a Crunch Fitness. I was a member at this same location about 10 years ago, but it was a different name then. My timing wasn't great as I got there right around when school got out so there were lots of teenagers and more adults. But if I did join, I'd go in the morning or at lunch on WFH days.

I'm thinking about taking the cheap basic membership for like $25/month as a backup for days that are really cold or if I want to use cables, etc. There are lots of machines, but nothing special or enticing like a belt squat or anything like that. My plans to build out a shed gym have been put on hold due to other unforseen home costs. I am thinking of evicting my car from the garage so I can use most of it for my gym and get a functional trainer. But I'll still be a cold little bitch in the winter. I would probably use the sauna from time to time too.

Before COVID I belonged to Lifetime which was fantastic and my son loved the pool, but it's so damn expensive. Lots of smokeshows in sports bras, though.

I got a 3-pack of Nautica boxer briefs at Marshalls and the goddamn things don't have a working fly! WTF is that Mickey Mouse shit????

$25 isn't bad for a reliable back up plan. I ordered this plate loaded cable tower to add some cable movements at home. Came out to $370 and if I really wanted I could order a second to somewhat mimic a functional trainer. I'm still trying to figure out where I'll put the first one when it gets here though. Maybe turn my house into a multi room gym.

I actually ordered the Titan one that attaches to a wall, but I haven't gotten it together yet because (a) I'm dogshit at putting things together; and (b) my one friend who is in contruction said it looks like there's a pipe running through the wall and it'd probably be fine but now I'm paranoid! I should have gone for the free standing.
