High On Life 2 was released yesterday to very little fanfare at all, which is kinda surprising because High On Life 1 was such a fun, wild, wacky adventure, figure there woulda been at least a little buzz around this new one, I didnt even realize it was being made til vids started popping up on mu algorithm a couple weeks back
Its getting good reviews and looks like more of the same awesome action from part 1 so I will definitely be picking this one up soon but I got a pretty big backlog right now(trying to dig into Borderlands 4 right now but holy moley is it boring) and I have a feeling it will price drop from 60 bucks down to 30 or 40 prettay quickly, plus I'm sure its gonna need a few post release patches here and there, so I'll hold off for the moment

It's on Game Pass. So if you think you'll complete the game in a month, the cost of a subscription for one month ($15 on console, $17 on PC) can buy you a playthrough.

Thats how I found the first one was on Game Pass but I only got a PS5 for current gen, not sure how much more boredom filled disappointment I can handle as I desperately cling to the hope that Borderlands 4 will begin to pull me in eventually so I'll probably be buying this one soon anyways

I never finished the first one but I had fun with it, always meant to pick it back up.

What I recall most was I popped a weed pill and I dozed off watching a legit B movie with a prime Denise Richards in it. I think you can watch the whole thing as I had a decent power nap and it was still on. That was crazy lol

I'm assuming that I'm 3/4 through the game. FYI they have more full length movies in this game, the city level has a theatre with 6 movies. I've unlocked Manborg (funny sci fi comedy from 10 years ago), some Christmas slasher movie and the 3rd movie I have is Spookies. I watched Spookies and it plays with a red letter media commentary that was really funny. It looks like it will have 3 more movies not sure what they are yet.
The game itself is a bit more toned down in the swearing and outrageous crude humor from the first. The story is good, the levels are kind of meh so far. The big change is that you get a skateboard and can glide around the world like Tony Hawk. Complete with grinding and half pipes, its weird but kind of works.

The game is also glitchy, I've had to completely close and restart the game 5 times and I've had to reload checkpoints because things won't progress or I get stuck behind the wall and can't get out.

For game pass it's a great game, I would not pay money at this point otherwise. The story so far is the best part.

This is kinda what I expected because I had these same kind of problems with the first one, which is why I'm waiting for the price drop on PS
