As an American I can't control Iran or Syria but I can have some influence on my own government and I'd like to see us chill our relationship with Israel significantly.

I don't think we can cut funding immediately, but it can be a gradual subtraction of funding. Bibi will remain in power so long as his friends stay in the governing coalition, so the chances of peace are very low. Elections won't be held until late 2026

Put yourself in their shoes, you want your country to be the battleground in a proxy war between Iran and the US? That country would be turned into rubble.

I can see why sunni/christian Lebanon would be hestitant to throw down with the shia Hezbollah/Iran group. They dont want Hezbollah there, but arent willing to pay the cost for that expulsion.
