They already are. They're helping shooting down Iranian missiles.

If Israel and Iran escalates, the US will be forced into a wider war. That's what Netanyahu has wanted for decades. He's wanted the US to eliminate a regional rival for him just like he was strongly urging us to do with Iraq.

I’m saying I hope we don’t start bombing Iran. We do t have to be forced into a war to support Israel.

I do fear that we will get involved for short sighted political reasons. It would be a long term mistake though. The Middle East is not our strategic focus today.

Hold on to your butts. If Iran goes to war, it needs to do so before Trump gets in office as he will go nuts defending Israel. On the other hand, Israel needs to go to war now in case Harris wins since she's less likely to fully involve the US.
