Henry Cejudo Complains About Fighter Pay.

This where I stand.

I care far more about prelim guys getting a boost in pay so everyone is well than I do about millionaires annoyed they aren’t bigger millionaires.

Very true, It all depends on how much CC was asking for , He was reasonably marketable and very hot when he left did he he out price himself?, If he was worth it I would like to say that the UFC would have paid him somewhat.

And trying to play the race card when the title shot was given to a Korean not a blue eyed Canadian was a fail too....he truly is Cringy.

When Ngannou works in sand mines like a slave it's ok but when he is not earning millions per fight, world is a terrible place and we must fix it!

its called being paid what youre worth. being a slave working in the mines isnt ok, so not sure where youre getting that from.

look, maybe youre too young to understand this concept but i'll spell it out for u: NO EMPLOYER WILL EVER WILLINGLY PAY YOU EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE WORTH. EVERY OFFER THEY GIVE U IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE LOWER THAN YOUR ACTUAL WORTH TO THE COMPANY!

The problem with Henry is that he doesn’t bring in any views. People always say that fighters aren’t paid enough, as if being a UFC fighter means you have to automatically make millions a year. If he wanted to get paid more, then he should have stayed, and marketed himself more, instead, he left and did nothing for a few years. Now it’s too late, no one cares anymore.

The thing about Walmart is, there are a bunch of other competitors within the same field who pays a lot more. Not the case with the UFC and fighting. UFC claims to be the top of the sport and not a whole lot of options outside of the UFC. It would be like being in the NFL and complaining about pay, but then go to Uzbekistan to play football and expect to be paid more. That ain't happening, because the NFL (and UFC) are the top promotion of the sport.

Not to mention the fact that the UFC has bought up a lot of its competitors in the past which further shows the UFCs monopolistic grip on the sport. Would be different if the UFC didn't claim to be the biggest sport in the world. Yet they still pay their fighters peanuts. Then the contracts fuck over the fighters where they can't just up and leave over the pay dispute. Look at GSP and how he is still getting fucked over by the UFC and can't leave his contract yet. And many consider GSP the goat, so imagine how much worse some of the other shit fighters get screwed by the U. F.ight C.heap.

All the UFC has to do to fix this is make the revenue split closer to 50:50 instead of letting the fighters get 15% (which I'm sure the lower guys/gals don't get close to 15% of the cut). But you shills keep defending Dana and his shitty tactics to continually screw the fighters over.
Again, they’re free to get other jobs like me and you.

Preliminary fighters bring nothing to the table …. They are interchangeable and nobody would care ……people that put asses in seats should be compensated

here's the problem-

EVERY TIME they give in to a fighter's pay demands
(GSP, Conor, Nate, Jorge, et al)

4 things happen:

1. the fighter gets their money
2. the fighter acts thrilled w new contract (look it up, every time)
3. the fighter becomes less active, or semi retired
4. the fighter suddenly wants to renegotiate the contract they previously loved.

its unfortunate they dont make more, but i do see the hesitancy, it literally never pays off if your goal is to see the fighter fight often.
That's probably not true. There are probably instances of fighters negotiating successfully without ever taking it to the public. Khabib for example.

How many is that now? can someone count the number of fighters speaking out against ufc pay?

Henry cejudo is right, he left on a high note when his value was at his highest but the ufc can low ball anyone they want by finding any excuse they can to fit their narrative , in this case...cejudo hasn't fought in a while and lost value or some bs like that. Let's just say I'd love to be a fly on the wall during those negotiations.

"They don’t want to pay, man,” Cejudo said. “It’s plain and simple. They don’t want to pay. Dana doesn’t want to pay. (If) they pay me, they got to pay the rest. And I’m out here. I’m not here to say to start a union. What I’m here to say is like, ‘Hey, man, everybody should be compensated individually.’ The guys are going to sell the fight, the guys that that are proven, like me. You know what I’m saying? So that’s plain and simple. Dana would love to see the fight, but he wants to pay me peanuts in comparison to what I really deserve. I respect the man because it’s his business, what he’s able to do to take this company to a two-billion-dollar company to what it’s worth now seven (to) nine billion and I can’t get a raise. That just seems a little off to me, man.”

Bonus diss towards gsp in there too

Yawn! I’m so tired hearing about fighters complaining about pay. Boo hoo! All professional athletes are spoiled the fighters are just less spoiled. They should go and find their “worth”

Well duh… Not arguing that

Jusy expressing I’m more sympathetic to poor people who need more more then rich people who are annoyed they aren’t richer

On the one hand, I agree with you

On the other hand, this:

Ok, but what do you want to happen?

Do you really want to live in a world where some authority can step in and tell a private company how much % of their revenue they have to pay their employees?

I don't actually care what happens. I just think it's reasonable for them to be upset when they get a much smaller slice of the pie than many other pro athletes.

It’s reasonable until you consider that he shows up to work twice a year while your average NHL or NBA player plays close to a hundred games.

We're talking about percent of revenue. I think that would only be relevant if we were talking about total pay.

Anyone except Conor not complaining?

To simplify things if CC brought in as much money as he is asking for wouldnt the UFC sign him? Simple theory isnt it? Losing good fighters generally isnt good for business especially CC who was hot off the Iron with his recent performances. Anyone know what he was asking for?

Ok but the average basketball player plays every game, so if he’s on the Chicago Bulls he’s contributing to every single event the Bulls put on.

The average UFC fighter contributes to maybe 2 or 3 events out of the 40 or so they put on each year. It’s not comparable at all.

Nice one shill. You sound very low iq. You see how other sports, like the legit sports, have a more even revenue split, almost 50:50? UFCs revenue split is less than have than that by far. What a fucking joke for a sport which Dana considered as the biggest in the world. Not to mention that the fighters aren't even employees but contractors. What a fuckin joke. Imagine the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc to consider their superstar studs as contractors and not employees. Bush league at its finest is the U. F.ight C.heap.
