Poatan beats all of them
I can see it. I don't have Silva beating Jones but Poatan is big and strong enough to be a real threat. Not that I'm discounting Silva completely but it's the wrestling that becomes the issue. We need to see what Alex does against a high level grappler that can get a td.

Jones has had some fights where he got beaten up pretty badly on the feet.

Izzy beat Silva, Strickland made Izzy look like crap on the feet, Poatan KTFO'd Strickland.

Based on MMAth...

Anderson Silva was the most ahead of the curve, but i've had to pick Izzy for doing it in Kickboxing, MMA and Boxing.

Alright, Sherbums, me and my buddy are STILL trying to settle this argument, and it’s getting heated. We’ve been going back and forth on this for a while, and I already made a poll to settle things. But guess what? He didn’t like how the last poll went, so now we’re running it back with another one!

The question is simple: Who’s the best striker in UFC history—Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, Israel Adesanya, or Alex Pereira? Here’s how the debate breaks down

My Take:

• I think Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya are the best strikers ever. Pereira’s power and elite kickboxing make him a KO threat at any moment, and Izzy’s precision, defense, and creativity are off the charts. Together, they’ve faced some of the toughest striking opponents in UFC history and have the highlight reels to prove it.

My Buddy’s Take:

• He thinks Anderson Silva is the best striker of all time, hands down, and Jon Jones is number two. He argues Silva’s ability to dismantle high-level strikers with ease (e.g., the Vitor Belfort front kick KO or the Forrest Griffin matrix performance) makes him unmatched. As for Jones, he points to his ability to blend unorthodox weapons—spinning elbows, oblique kicks, and insane reach control—with his fight IQ, saying he’s the most effective overall striker.

The Breakdown:

• Anderson Silva: Known for his creativity, devastating precision, and iconic knockouts. Anderson is a pioneer who made striking look like an art form during his dominant reign as middleweight champion.

• Jon Jones: While not a pure striker, his ability to control range, use unorthodox weapons, and dominate elite opponents with his creativity puts him in the conversation.

• Israel Adesanya: A striking genius with unmatched technical skill. Izzy’s footwork, timing, and ability to read opponents have allowed him to outclass top strikers like Whittaker, Costa, and Cannonier.

• Alex Pereira: Arguably the hardest-hitting striker on the list, Pereira’s kickboxing credentials and KO power make him a terrifying matchup for anyone. Plus, he’s the only man on this list who’s KO’d Izzy.

The Question:
Who’s the best striker in UFC history out of these four? Cast your vote in this new poll, and let’s finally settle this argument once and for all. Who’s your pick, Sherbums? Silva’s finesse? Jones’ creativity? Izzy’s technical mastery? Or Pereira’s raw power?
you are wrong and friend is correct. Hope that clears things up for you, newbie.

Anderson by a good margin, Izzy and Alex aren't as close as people try to make them seem. Alex was just struggling with Khalil, southpaws give him trouble. Anderson is the best southpaw striker ever in MMA history.

In a strictly striking affair Silva is embarrassing Jones, Silva at his peak was a phenomenal athlete who could easily close the distance while being a faster, quicker, and a far better boxer, kickboxer, and just as crafty in any clinch situation.

1. Silva - The Pinnacle, Silva had the complete package with all the intangibles to boot. Truly one of the most talented and gifted guys to ever attempt MMA, when you examine his statistics from his prime years, he blows all of these guys out of the water it's not even close. To put it into perspective, Silva has a 60% striking defense today after fighting 10 years past his actual prime years. You couldn't hit this guy, and when he wanted to trade shot for shot he made legends like Hendo wilt from the pressure. Silva was so dominant he could win any way he wanted, there was no striking gameplan he couldn't fulfill, he could do everything. But not only was this guy the best defensive striker we've seen, he was the most accurate with devastating results.

2. Alex - Amazing arsenal of effective techniques, does have multiple defensive weaknesses though. This guy will always have the stain of losing to Izzy, but he was absolutely buzz sawing his way through Izzy up until his defensive issues reared their head. Great power, Great timing, very good speed, constant pressure, great counters, can finish a fight at all three levels. BEAST

3. Jones - This guy always finds a way, you would never see him get walked down by someone like Stickland. His body attacks and IQ alone put him on a level above Izzy and on par with Alex. With his reach and striking volume, there isn't actually a way to avoid getting hit by this guy in his prime years. His lack of speed & power sets him back, he is often forced to have tougher striking affairs than other greats because of this, his granite chin seems to make up for it.

4. Izzy - Very good striker but fairly limited in his approach. Strikland showed once you negate his leg kicks and his right hand, he just isn't that guy. The fight against Romero showed the reality and lack of offensive weapons. In truth he has bad tendencies for MMA, and in a kickboxing environment would fare better. Out of all four, he is the weakest fighter when it comes to being effective in either stance. I'd say the most underrated aspect of Izzy in the striking department is his head movement and durability during his prime. His defensive performance in the first MMA fight with Alex is some of the best of all time, even if the fight ended in a loss for him.

Izzy isn't a top 4 guy in terms of striking though, and neither is Jones. But the margins get really thin at the top. It depends on if you consider things like durability into "striking", because things like durability have a huge impact on who will win the striking affair regardless of skill.

1. Alex - touch of death, and more nuanced than he's given credit for.
2. Anderson - the most diverse striker. Destructive with all 8 limbs.
3. Izzy - obviously a great striker, but less dangerous than Alex and Anderson.

4. Jones - doesn't belong on this list.

Pereira.

Just his no-tell punches and kicks alone are vastly superior to any of the others.

Not to mention he knows how and when to use them, his shot selection is on the same level as Jones.

Prime spider would matrix all those fools regardless of weight class.

It's Silva, without a doubt.

30 yr old Izzy had issues against a 44 yr old, 1/4/1 in his last 6 Silva.

Silva is absolutely thee best striker, and is still underrated by many somehow.

If you're going to put Jones in a "best striker" poll, you might as well put someone like GSP.. neither belong in the conversation, their great striking success rested greatly on the back of their other skills. It's like saying Khabib is a better striker than Mcgregor because he landed the best shot in their fight.

i was more excited to see silva fight each time, and it was fun to watch

You're Dreyga, so fuck your problems

Silva redefined striking in the sport I think and so be gets the title of 'greatest' but if you were to set up a striking only tournament with all of those participants, I think Alex would be a deserving favourite to win. Jones is effective but without his wrestling to back it up, striking rules only, I would not favour him over Alex

MfraNcis should be on there.
I'd say Anderson but it's pretty subjective. Good list tho ts

Pereira
Adesanya
Silva
Jones

I understand Silva is ranked highly here, but I also think it's the rose colored glasses effect. He really didn't face any great strikers throughout his prime.

Where as Pereira and Adesanya have been tested at the highest levels.

Jones is also worth an honorable mention, not enough to place him above these 3 guys, but reasonably within that same category.

Hes one of the least hit fighters in mma history. Closest thing we have to the Floyd Mayweather of mma, defensively speaking.
exceptional distance control, creativity and diversity of weapons and fight iq.
