Crime Headlining Crime Megathread Vol 4.

Just give it a few minutes. Right now someone out there is frantically searching and hoping to find that the poor kid has a criminal record so they can justify this murder
You don't really believe that. If you do, you are one delusional sick child.

A little girl was hit by a stray bullet out shopping in Atlanta and died the day after Xmas. Just sad.

Isn't Little Rock Arkansas a hot bed for gang activity? I remember it being that way in the 90's. HBO even did a documentary on it called Gang Bangin' in Little Rock. This sounds like another case of an innocent victim getting caught up in the cross fire. Sad stuff.

It could turn out to be a variety of things. I'm not claiming it was a random act, I have no idea. Could be the kids had beef with other kids at their school. Could be they had words with someone in the mall that followed them outside. Whatever it is, it's not okay is my point. That's just not a call a mother should have to get. Ever.

I have family members around that age and if this happened to one of them I'd be beside myself. But if it turned out they were a gang member and this was some kind of retaliatory thing for something they had done, it might not make me feel any better about it, but at least it would make some kind of sense.

I have a hard time figuring out the motivation of the shooter to just light up a car full of civilians. He knows that's going to bring down a lot more heat than just shooting another crook.

And there are a million reasons for the family to paint an inaccurate picture of what happened here, not the least of which being protecting their other kids from something similar.

Yes gangs are a plague and I really don't see how to fix that problem without basically going full authoritarian which I would be 100% against.

Once you realize you've hit a kid, how do you not just put the gun in your mouth and pull the trigger.

Dude... Was just watching that on youtube earlier. Comedy gold

I think it's kinda pointless speculating, and even if there was more to it, the family (the parents specifically) might not even know.

I think you're getting too hung up on the "gang member" stuff. I'm not saying that's impossible, but there's a ton of gun violence happening now that's not random, but not "gang retaliation" either. A lot of times it's just friction between people that know each other in school or whatever.

Honestly, the most likely scenario (because this shit has happened twice at malls in my area over the past couple years) is that somehow there was shit talking with another group in the mall. And what used to be just kids talking shit and moving on now becomes one group following the other outside and opening fire. Which is a sad thing that it's where we are. But like I said, happened twice at 2 different malls near me. One was two groups of friends that knew each other and there was just one kid from each group that had an issue with each other (over a girl I think). Not gang members, just kids who don't know that real life isn't a movie and you don't settle shit with a shootout in a mall parking lot. The other one was 2 groups that didn't even know each other. I think the one "group" was just two guys and the other was a bigger group. Somehow there was shit talking and when the bigger group followed the two guys outside, one of the two opened fire.

Anyway, the point is we don't know and may not ever know. But kids getting shot sucks.

I think it's just my way of trying to make sense of it.

I think it's just my way of trying to make sense of it.

Lack of respect for fellow human life has become normalized in our society today for sure.

this is the censored version so the mods can't throw a hissy fit, but this man, was crossing the street with his 6 year old daughter.

this video doesn't show it, but after the man is shot, the poor girl looks around, completely confused as to what happened.

truly heart breaking.

That's what happens when politicians appease the trash of society, tell the losers and failures that everything is someone's else fault and normalize violence and crime.
What are you rambling about?

I think it's just my way of trying to make sense of it.

Yeah that's natural. I get it. Sometimes there's some sort of explanation (which doesn't make it less tragic but gives a reason why if nothing else) and sometimes there isn't an explanation other than that people suck.

Disgusting. How evil exactly do you have to be to shoot someone in cold blood that's walking with their young child.

I'm anti death penalty but I wouldn't shed one tear if that shooter ended up doused in gasoline and set on fire, then tossed into a pit somewhere never to be seen or heard from again.

same. no honor...no sense of humanity. nothing.

Who are you defending?
i'm not defending anybody, i just hate people who always try to find somebody at fault for whatever situation. THE BLAME GAME IS THE LAME GAME. Why the fuck do people always feel the need to tell everyone who is to blame for whever problem? fuckin bitches i tell ya.
