as long as people keep spending most of their time on social media, in their echo chamber hugboxes where their opinions arent challenged, things wont change. and this is irrespective of Republican or Democrat (both of those parties are just for people to be distracted anyway). anyone who is blindly partisan cannot be reasoned with.

Most people don't lean hard either way. Because what normal, stable, human would look at either party and go "oh yeah, these guys are great!"

Don't try to prove people wrong but try to understand why they might hold their positions and articulate your position while attempting to convey why. Listen

Gain self respect, become humbled, always be honest and realize others aren't "like" you or they don't think like you or act as you might. Hold yourself to a high standard always and expect it of others but accept they may not hold the same standard. And act with mindful character especially when no one's looking.

This sounds good downstream but I think the first solution has to be from an economic standpoint. The worst the economy is the general idea is that leads to an increase in crime and disfunction in general so people are less open to listening to each other. Here are a few of my own ideas.

• We already fund public schools with tax dollars. Let's start integrating high schools and tech schools more so that those students that want to go the tech route to become something like a car mechanic, nurse, dental assistant, HVAC Technician can do so. No reason to have to go through 4 years of high school and then an additional 2 to 3 years of tech school when they can be combined and knocked out in about 5 to 6 years at the most. We can use tax money to fund areas that are actually in need.
  
  
• I know some may not like this but certain industries if you have any type of American customer base (financial tech companies, IT companies, etc.) should be required to limit any outsourcing operations to 10% to 15% of the workforce (the number can fluctuate based on what is "fair"). I understand that many countries have more technical people than Americans but most of us have experienced things like customers who answer the phone who we know are based overseas when that job can be done in America. This is not about the people overseas but more about businesses cutting costs instead of paying the going rate in America.
  
  
• In everything you buy (product or service) the cost includes all taxes, extra charges and fees. What you see is what you pay. I cannot be the only one that gets tired of seeing a price and then after taxes and garbage fees it is a different price. Just lump everything together and let's make pricing straight forward.

The freedom to speak is not the same as the freedom to speak to the WORLD. In my opinion there is no level of speech restriction you could put on social media that would constitute a violation of 1A. People can still write letters, make phone calls, and stand on crates out in the street and say what they like.

Either political and religious speech should be banned on SM, or SM companies can take financial responsibility for all the libel slander etc. No Politics, No religion. The temperature in the country would drop significantly. It's sensible. Our little brains can't handle it. We get too worked up. This is why I suggested economic change as one of the first thing as a solution. If you want to weaken the "ruling class" my thinking is we, as a society, have to start drawing the line somewhere and money is the best way to do it. I've had push back against this from other people but one of the things that should be done is no more deductions on taxes if you give to non-profits/charities.

Yes, I know some non-profits/charities do good and it is great to give to them but no more deducting them from taxes or forming a non-profit/charity to shield you from taxes. If you want to give it is from your own heart, not to prevent you from paying the adequate amount in taxes.

If the democrats hold power they will do their best to destroy the republicans anyway they can.

I expect the republicans to fo the same when they are in power.

When the democrats are not in power they will fight everything the republicans try to do or say.

The only way anything is going to change is through three things:

1. Empathy, actually caring about how you affect people in life.
2. You're opinions on life aren't fact, especially regarding religion, sexual orientation, gender, any of that.
3. Go outside.

You can't go out in life and hate on everything that you don't agree with, and then expect those people that you hate to not come back at you with the same energy. If you're a mad and aggressive asshole, then other mad and aggressive assholes are going to give you the same thing back.

No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, and people have to be willing to move past it and grow. How you live and view life means nothing to anyone else, just be a good person and that's all that matters.

Get off of social media and do things outside, camping, playing games or sports, anything like that. People are so glued to technology and forget that the world is full of trolls and paid bots that are trying to sow discontent and piss everyone off, trying to get everyone fighting with each other. Go out in the real world and remember that the average person isn't an asshole.
