Give them both life.

They should be charged because their actions killed a man and we have rules as a society. But this is a horrible tragedy and I doubt those children understood the true weight of the crime they were committing. They arent even old enough to get a drivers license. What a shame.
Why dont we give 13 yrs old drivers licenses? Most people, of any age, dont realize the weight of their crimes until they are caught. That is why you have adults, in every position of society committing crimes equally as bad as this. Like, at what point were these two going to be like, "lol, let me stop now"?
Why dont we give 13 yrs old drivers licenses?
what kind of odds will you give me? i might take 100,000/1...I'll bet that their fathers are MIA.
the sad thing is...someone will legitimately argue this...and alleviate the culpability these teens have for their actions.

The Video format isn’t the greatest because it’s from Instagram I couldn’t find the video anywhere else of it actually happened.
13 and 15 year old carjackers, both teenage girls.
Tried to steal this mans car, they drove off and he was killed when the car flipped.
Should they go away for life?
One of them is an actual child.
My kid is 11 but he knows the difference between right and wrong.
They’re charged with felony murder but will plea down most likely. They’re behind bars right now.
After watching that second video it is infuriating that no one ran over to that poor man to assess his injuries and try to help. Judging by the positioning of his body he could’ve easily been dead but it appeared he was still breathing when they showed him. Either way, completely disgraceful.
that was some Fkd up stuff
it's basically senseless homicide, sentence, I can't say. Dumb kids doing dumb stuff and did they know it would result in death? On one hand, they didn't expect death, secondly, car jacking/joyriding laws do they know they exist and to what extent? seems like a case of joyriding gone bad
No but the reason is that everyone knows children arent responsible enough to do certain things. Their brains arent developed and they dont have alot of experiences to guide them. They are going through puberty. That's pretty much the equivalent of drinking 4 beers when it comes to decision making. Dont get me wrong I dont think they should get off but can't imagine they had a great upbringing and perfect childhood up until this.So they can car jack people if they can drive legally? What kind of comparison is that?
“Sir can you hear me, an ambulance is on its way.” Look at his body while you’re on the phone with 911 explaining his current condition and just talking to him to possibly keep him from going into shock. I never said “play EMT” or even touch him for that matter. No one even checks on him despite several people walking right passed him.If you're not trained to deal with that level of trauma, you could just as easily fuck them up if you start playing EMT.
Antisocial personality disorder (the official term for psychopath) starts to show relatively early in life, with a rap sheet as juveniles. Their callousness towards the man's life is a good indication they're well on their way to an official diagnosis (which can technically only be made at age 18). Throw them the book.

Jesus, you really do love making your own shit up to argue. I said it was infuriating several people walk right passed this man and this is the nonsense you write back. Let me explain something to you cause it’s obvious you lack experience and are in no position to speak for anyone. I’ve been the responding officer to so many fucked up traumatic scenes and I’ve had multiple people who had no medical knowledge or training whatsoever that were concerned citizens hang with someone seriously injured till we could get there. It’s obvious you have no idea what you’re talking about but believe it or not when you’re seriously injured sometimes all it takes is to hear a comforting voice. The Captain Hindsight hot take is nice and all, but you're asking a lot from the public that is in the middle of a severely traumatic experience. The people who stay cool and can focus under those circumstances, are either sociopaths or trained to do so.
All you see from the video, are literally four or five seconds after they approach the crash, and you're asking for them to diagnose his condition and relay it to emergency services. When most people see a mangled body, they're not exactly prepared to get up close and personal and turn on their EMT sensibilities, to which most have none. It's such a dumb thing to complain about. They called 911. That's all you can ask.
