HBO - Chernobyl anyone?

God. That light when it goes critical. Scares the shit out of me every time.

Pretty dam epic for only 5 episodes. Can’t wait for a blu Ray or 4K

I should like but also you need a dub. Damn that shit is hard to watch. Those Guys who volunteered for the swim are fucking worldwide heroes. Not just Russia heroes.

Could you imagine volunteering for a suicide mission?
Amazingly all three survived. And two of them still alive to this day

This is what hell looks like. No demons or ghosts, just man made disaster.

One of the best things I've ever seen.

Such great and powerful acting.

Jared Harris (Legasov) was incredible, but man, Stellan Skarsgård (Shcherbina) really punched it up a notch. Really very emotional the way his character developed over the course of the show.

They did such a great job with the (true) story, IMO

Such an ominous, nervous, terrifying feeling from start to finish.

They really managed to show people at their best and people at their worst.

9.5/10

That was an amazing finale. The character development though 5 episodes was incredible.
Stellan Skarsgård should receive an awar for this. His acting was perfection.

I agree 100%. That scene with him with the inch worm, knowing he was going to die. Jesus....They captured that moment of mortality perfectly.

If theres such a thing as a blister fetish this show must be an unbelievably erotic tale

Just started this, on episode 2 and I’m loving it!

What an absurdly good series from beginning to end.
You either finish early as a good show, or you drag it on long enough to see yourself become a joke.

*Cough* Game of Thrones *Cough*

Two episodes in and loving it.

How come hbo crushes their original series but netflix series always seem cheap?
Fantastic show so far

It's worth pointing out Chernobyl was a co-production between HBO and Sky (UK), two absolute powerhouse networks, so it likely had a far bigger budget, production capabilities etc than most shows.

The testimony was so fascinating and disheartening. To see how many things had to go wrong to set off this domino effect of tragedy was pretty staggering. Especially seeing it all laid out like it was.

Dyatlov was truly a complete piece of shit. More loathsome than any villain you could come up with. Fueled by greed that left a wake of destruction still being felt today. Fuck him.
Basically he was a driven, narrow minded and manipulative bully lacking imagination. The sort of person who thrives in highly bureaucratic environment. He had not been given information about the weaknesses of the reactor type and believed blindly in his training. When reactor started acting funny it was probably just beyond his comprehension, that anything worse that some sort of shutdown could occur and it seemed his main concern was how to blame that on his subordinates.
