I know there's a running joke about sherdoggers all being a bunch of fat basement dwellers, but I'm sure there's a quite a few of us that have a good amount of training or a martial arts background.

Trained but didnt compete.

Yes, I was tempted to put "Trained UFC" as a joke option, but ................

8 years amateur boxing. 3 years Karate. 8 years BJJ.

Couple of challenge matches back in the day, but no formal MMA matches.

Trained a lot of Karate from 6 - 18 done multiple tournaments and fell out of touch with it. I did try to get back into it when i was 22 but i couldn't get used to having a new sensei and the one i had before i respected a lot. Tried to resume contact with my previous sensei but by then we lived way to far apart.

I have not done any MMA training or competed in any MMA tournaments.

Trained alot. Fought in a cage once in front of a full crowd at an Indian Casino. What a rush...

Edit: First thought when the cage door closed was "What the fuck have I done?!"

Competed in MT and no-gi BJJ, not MMA yet. But I've trained MMA since I started.

where I am, competing in MMA is in a bit of a lockdown and tough to get fights, it means we'd have to go other countries, or provinces. The $$$ is costly so the amount to send isn't as frequent.

Do street fights count?

What about presser brawls?

I was once TKO'd by a thrown loafer for example.

I feel like there will be a lot of lying/exaggerating going on in this thread.

Anyway, if you've only trained in wrestling or bjj, would that count as "training mma" ?
