a year ago, Umar pulls out against sandhagen for their fight scheduled in August, the co main event of UFC 294 of costa-khamzat and the main event of oliveira-Islam 2 falls apart, 1 month later ufc 295's main event falls apart as Jones gets hurt. Then mcgregor pulls out against chandler and khamzat pulls out against whittaker cancelling the main event of back to back cards in June 2024. Belal is supposed to fight shavkat in december, he gets hurt and pulls out cancelling the original UFC 310 main event. In the very next card, Arman pulls out 1 day before fight night cancelling 311's main event. And now the co main of 313 is cancelled. That's like a total of 10 big fights in the co main or main event of a card being cancelled in a 16 month span, it seems like pullouts have increased

I felt like last card almost every fight had a shorter notice replacement from what the commentators were saying. But that aside, it doesn't seem noticeably worse than recent years to me.

The more money at stake, the more risk in fighting injured.
$5k/$5k contracts for EVERYONE!!!!

Definitely seems like there are more pullouts. The UFC should be able to do something about it.

No UFC fighters are siring more children than ever before.

They have a strategy of stacking multiple title fights on a card and then fighters "getting injured" shortly after tickets sell out, flights are purchased and hotels are booked...💸🤡💸

You know who never pulled out? Alex Oliveira and Niko Price.

Khabib showed you could pull out and keep your "undefeated" title

no matter how late

We're probably at the average pace. Maybe just slightly above.

Lotta cards, lotta fights and fighters

The only reason it's on people's minds is the Islam-Tsarukyan fight getting messed up

But that's nothing compared to Oliveira pulling out against Islam and Paulo Costa pulling out against Khamzat on the same card

Edit to add: And furthermore the Oliveira pullout led to the downfall of Volk's whole career

Everyone has been saying it for years. I can't say for sure as I've never tried to look up or compile the numbers, but just remember that there's a lot more fights now than previous. There's also more opportunities to fight when compared to say, 20 years ago when there was a UFC card every 3 months or so.

Feels like there were more pull outs couple years ago tbh, this does not feel more than it has been brother.

It’s been like this since the integration of health care for UFC fighters once a bout is contracted, when I first started watching fighters didn’t have that so they would have to fight to make money for whatever injuries they have.
