It's the same with Rousey.
Plain , average to homely looking chick and 90% of Sherdoggers are ready to kill for her.

Square hipped , Cartman looking chick.
She cleans up all right , with an image consultant , makeup and photoshop but godamn , I don't wanna wake up next to her.

Yeah I agree, she's not a superstar yet, and it's hard to see her becoming a true superstar - with all the crossover appeal etc - when there's so many people against women's combat sports. I hope she continues her sucess and more though.

People want Rousey to be a star so they're downplaying people who are obviously bigger stars.

Laila Ali- People can say she was only famous for her father but for a while she was a big name in boxing circles and had a good record to go with it.

Christy Martin was a much bigger name in boxing circles that Rousey is even close to being in MMA circles.

Gina Carano may have not been as good in MMA, but she was undoubtedly a bigger star than Rousey.
