Has Bo said anything or addressed the loss yet?

Agreed, however I can't ever pass on a opportunity to shit on Rockhold, even if I'm wrong.
More than fair <lol>

Just Released Press Statement from Camp Nickal:

"Bo now Knows knees".

Big issue with Bo was his unparalleled arrogance when talking about the top of the division, while only facing cans on big PPVs.
Having confidence in yourself is unparalleled? This shouldn't even be an issue. Every fighter should be saying they will become the best.

I doubt it, he'll probably be on someone's podcast this week though. Bo looked tiny in there, it's crazy that he struggled to make weight, oof. I'm interested what he has to say as well. No excuse, he got thoroughly dominated.

He literally has won international wrestling tournaments at like 203lbs beating world medalists and shit. Of course wrestling is same day weigh ins and different, but still. He has looked small and I've noted it for like a year +.

You can have confidence in yourself without being dismissive about your fellow fighters to a ridiculous level.

Calling top fighters elite skills "mid", "trash", saying they are easy money, then struggling with lesser fighters will get you clowned on when you don't deliver.

He famously predicted he would be a -1000 favorite vs Khamzat, for example.

Combine that with getting preferential treatment to the point of main carding UFC 300 ahead of ex-champions while facing Cody Brundage.

It's not difficult to see why he's not very liked by most of the fans.

I expect he's waiting for the cobwebs to clear before speaking about it. he probably didn't realize in the moment that he was succumbing to getting his bell rung. Probably won't even recognize himself on re-watching it.

So I'm not sold on the fact that he's a quitter.

I think he got his bell rung more than it ever has been & he didn't know how to deal with it. I expect him to learn from that now & come back stronger. Now that he understandz the disorienting effects of being semi-concussed, it can either make or break him. This is an important turning point in his career.

Hopefully this also gives him some much needed humility.

You win or you learn.

That knee is not a technique every fighter has in their tool set and it is not the Magic end all undefendable automatic victory maneuver.

The UFC matchmakers really fucked him over by giving him De Ridder.

Head coach Mike Brown said this:

"Was a tough weekend but maybe one that a was needed. Things have been moving fast for Bo Nickal and to this point he was been able to make things happen and secure 6 finishes and 7 victories with the limited experience that he has," Brown wrote on Instagram.

"Bo has all the attributes that you want if your goal is to become a world champion in mixed martial arts. He has athleticism, a strong confident mind set, a great family support system, and he started combat sports (specifically wrestling) at a very young age. These are all the boxes that you want to check when developing an elite MMA fighter but the one thing Bo doesn’t have is live fighting cage time and for this there is no substitution. MMA fight experience is crucial and actual time in the cage is extremely important," continued Brown.

"As a team we had our concerns about moving so fast and we realize the dangers of fighting such high level opponents so early, but Bo is a unique athlete and the UFC has him on a fast track. This past weekend Bo’s lack of experience showed, his wrestling and athleticism wasn’t enough to overcome what was in front of him. Reinier de Ridder now 20-2 was a multi-time 2 division world champion in OneFC a very reputable organization. Props to him for coming with a strong game plan and executing what was needed.. This is the fight game and it’s cliche but this is where we learn. This is where we make changes and where we make the biggest gains. I’m confident that this is going to fuel Bo and it will help him direct his focus to another level. To all the critics dog piling, remember Bo is nothing more than a man in an arena trying to support himself and his family."

Apparently Bo asked for this fight. I'm assuming his team and his manager also supported his decision.
I agree with you though, I think UFC and Bo's team of experienced staff should have known better. It almost seems like the overconfidence became contagious and widespread.
