Okay what's the draw of this game? Yeah it's Fun and the art is cool but starting over and over eventually negates all that. Arent there some type of buffs that carry over between attempts?? I haven't experienced that at all yet.
I read the shield weapon with the shield dash attack was the OP build in this game. The starting over and over part is what every game in the roguelike genre is about, that's the genre, if you don't like dying and starting again then maybe roguelikes aren't your thing.
As for your other question about stuff carrying over. You start from scratch but you can buy permanent enhancements that will make your runs easier, along with upgrading keepsakes, and familiars. There's also 6 different weapons, and each comes with 3 variations.
Then you've got heat which adds difficulty in various ways to each run, but that's your choice whether you use heat on not.
Long story short, if you want to die in a run and then somehow be more powerful in the next run it ain't gonna happen. Your success from start to finish is dictated by knowing how to approach each enemy, and taking the right stuff when you're given a choice so you can get a good build going.

FINALLY!!! 50% sale on STEAM. Snapped it up...
Ya shoulda never left my side baby...
So you never played it? Set aside some time, lol
Definitely a worthy purchase. These kinds of games are like great arcade games, that you can play over and over again, always looking to improve. No did play and beat it but it was on Gamepass and the game service.
It's one of those games you want to own and play again every once in a while.
Was waiting for a sale on Steam to pick it up.
My best heat is only 40 back when I was playing hardcore.Super excited for Hades 2
So far I've done 32 heat. (I haven't actually tried anything higher as of yet)
But my real biggest accomplishment
Actually did a no hit run.
I wasn't even trying to at first. Wasn't til I hit probably Elysium that I noticed I hadn't been hit. Somehow made it through Styx. the [Redacted] boss fight was majorly high intensity.
