HADES: Battle out of Hell

Just did my 52nd run and only now found a secret (but quite funny) boss(?) in Temple of Styx, had a name, a life bar and the "VANQUISHED" thing after he died, caught me off guard.

Finally escaped after like 40 attempts lol.

I still feel like I’m not sure what I’m doing but the boons I got were fantastic for that run. Not sure how much I’ll come back to it but happy to say I’ve at least “beat” it.

I've noticed an easy little effective combo is putting Doom on the Q of the railgun. There's lots of hammer upgrades that boost the Q in a way that gels with doom pretty well. Cluster bombs is lots of fun when it dooms everything. But I really liked the upgrade that lets you 3 shot your Q.

Really simple combo and really effective

I did a run with the aspect of the railgun that just adds ammo. I starting pumping up Zeus lighting on attack and that shit cleared mobs fast. Felt like a buzzsaw. I pretty much ran through a whole run just getting every lighting upgrade I could.

Oh', I had quite the OP build the other day.

Bow + Fast attack + Double shot + Doom on attack + Doom booster + Damage Bonus to close/far enemies...

Everything died with a maximum of three shots, and Hades and his little goons he spawns had absolutely no chance. First time I beat him without dying.

Finally started this game yesterday. I kinda hesitated because I'm not a huge rogue-like fan and I wasn't the biggest Bastion fan neither. I have to say I've enjoyed the game this far. Feels very polished! Only had like 7 attempts and I already got to the Bull of Minos and almost beat him with the shield.

Okay what's the draw of this game? Yeah it's Fun and the art is cool but starting over and over eventually negates all that. Arent there some type of buffs that carry over between attempts?? I haven't experienced that at all yet.

The starting over and over part is what every game in the roguelike genre is about, that's the genre, if you don't like dying and starting again then maybe roguelikes aren't your thing.

As for your other question about stuff carrying over. You start from scratch but you can buy permanent enhancements that will make your runs easier, along with upgrading keepsakes, and familiars. There's also 6 different weapons, and each comes with 3 variations.

Then you've got heat which adds difficulty in various ways to each run, but that's your choice whether you use heat on not.

Long story short, if you want to die in a run and then somehow be more powerful in the next run it ain't gonna happen. Your success from start to finish is dictated by knowing how to approach each enemy, and taking the right stuff when you're given a choice so you can get a good build going.

I read the shield weapon with the shield dash attack was the OP build in this game.

There's load of awesome builds. Saw blade vortex from Ares, spear with tidal waves from Poseidon, loads of good ones. As long as you don't try to have like 6 different gods' boons you should be able to get a good build going.

Experiment and see what you like best.

I ended up using a variation of the shield where you can throw it out and just leave it spinning in a zone, and then i attached stuff to it that would hurt like hell.

Super excited for Hades 2

So far I've done 32 heat. (I haven't actually tried anything higher as of yet)
But my real biggest accomplishment

Actually did a no hit run.
I wasn't even trying to at first. Wasn't til I hit probably Elysium that I noticed I hadn't been hit. Somehow made it through Styx. the [Redacted] boss fight was majorly high intensity.

FINALLY!!! 50% sale on STEAM. Snapped it up...

Ya shoulda never left my side baby...

So you never played it? Set aside some time, lol

No, I did play and beat it but it was on Gamepass and it left the game service.
It's one of those games you want to own and play again every once in a while.

Was waiting for a sale on Steam to pick it up.

Definitely a worthy purchase. These kinds of games are like great arcade games, that you can play over and over again, always looking to improve.

"Hades" is on another level, than most. It's one part dungeon crawler, one part rogue-like, and is sheer perfection in it's execution. The story bits, which are vast, are just gravy. It's one of the best games ever made.

My best heat is only 40 back when I was playing hardcore.
No-hit is a true achievement, man. GG!

My personal favorite runs are no-boon runs. Getting that funny alternate dialogue from the final boss when you don't have any boons is funny. I basically just go shattered shackle + Zag bow for them.
