HADES: Battle out of Hell

If you visit Charon's shop mid-level he sometimes has a bag of 300 obols you can "borrow" to start a fight with him. You don't get this option if you visit his shop at the end of a level before the boss fight.

Nice one thanks.

I've never borrowed the 300, you get plenty of money from other sources.

I mainly want to do it to get the trophy and experience the boss fight at least once.

Yeah, it's never all that tempting. I only did it, because I was on a trash run, and I knew it would do something because of the red lettering. Beat him(barely), got the achievement and never touched it again.

He's actually not that hard though. He just catches you off guard because you don't know what he does. The discount he offers after you beat him, might be worth it once you have him nailed down.

Interesting, i'll do that at some point then, currently working towards double digit heat with every weapon.

@Ashen One have you got any fun or OP builds for me?

I just had the gun with 5 special shots instead of 1, but they were all rockets that deflected everything... couldn't see the enemies through the explosions but man was it fun.
OP build?
Fists (any aspect really), Ares attack + Athena special (and dash if you can get it as a bonus). Ares attack +Athena Special can give you the duo boon "Merciful end" which instantly procs any doom effects immediately if using a deflection attack so attacking in a flurry and dodging through the enemy is ridiculous.

Another OP build that works similarly is The Sea Storm spear build. Get Poseidon attack and dash as well as Zeus special or call and you have the chance to unlock the duo boon "Sea Storm" which uses a lightning bolt for every time you knock back an enemy. Use the Serrated point Hammer upgrade to make your dash attacks strike 3 times. Flurry jab works too.

The absolute most busted build Ive played yet is also really hard to get. Basically, you take Ares cast (the whirling blade), and an artemis skill that lets you get the Ares/Aretemis duo boon that makes the blade seek target. That alone is pretty good. But if you can get boost it with other Ares boons, and specifically the "more damage with every tick" boon then you just let the blades fly and hide behind a rock. They tear everything to pieces. Bonus if you can get more casts from chaos, and I was even thinking if you could get the Hermes boon where casts come back automatically the build would basically be a cheat code.

What modifiers do you guys use for heat? Highest I've beat Hades is on level 3 heat.

More enemies
More expensive store items
Enemies have higher health

I beat him with -25% health rewards, combined with -1 Boon options(which I believe is worth 2 heat). Every other option on the list and I'm like "nope", LOL.

I mix it up between more health, more enemies, traps deal 400% damage, enemies have a shield for the first hit and extreme measures. Obviously on the run above i didn't have extreme on for Hades but i always run extreme measures against the first 2 or 3 bosses regardless of what i pick. If you put extreme measures on it only makes the bosses "harder" but gives you 1, 2, 3, and 6 heat, so 10 heat in total.

Pretty sure i'm up to 39 runs now with 19 escapes.

The best build I've done is with the gun and the hazard bomb upgrade plus any artemis upgrade I got my hands on

Just melted Hades health with each shot

Hold up hold up hold up... you're telling me i escaped with 8 heat and now i have to escape with 16 heat?!

Gonna have to have a long think about what pacts to go with for that.

I have done a 32 heat run with the bow. I need to go back to the pacts of punishment to see what I chose but I can DM you with it if you want.

One thing I can say is that with 16 heat, you can choose Extreme Measures 4 for an instant 10 heat as long as you are comfortable fighting the harder versions of each boss.

Ok so for 16 heat, my go to is:
1. Extreme Measures 4 (instant 10 heat)
2. Forced Overtime 1 (Gives you 3 heat for enemies being slightly faster as well as spawning in faster for the next pact despite that stat not being included. I follow speedrunners).
3. Tight Deadline 2 (The timer adds up so don't worry about clearing later areas as much as Tartarus which should be less than 4 minutes going slowly. 3 minutes is about average but each biome adds 7 minutes to your timer so you're fine).

I'm not gonna do it yet as i'm still building all the weapons towards the same heat, but when i do i'll let you know how it goes.

That's what it jumps up to?

16 heat first try!

Used the gun, had hangover on my heat seeking bullets that also exploded in an area, with like 70% increased damage when a few enemies were affected by hangover. Then i had doom on my special which didn't matter but it's what i got, and lastly i had Hermes give me 3 extra dashes to make it 5 in total, coupled with lightnight bolt on dash, and my bolt area was like 80% increased... literally clearly out every room in the temple of styx just by dashing.

There's a Zeus/Poseidon duo boon that makes lighting strike every target that gets hit with a knock back. I remember I had Poseidon dash and just literally dashed around a map and shit crumbled. I had a bunch of Zeus upgrades for lighting too. That was a really awesome run.
