HADES: Battle out of Hell

Theseus and the minotaur have never given me problems outside of the first few times I faced them. Hades on the other hand...man, I can't get him down consistently. Only times I've walked through him, is when my build was just ridiculous. The other times have been scratching and clawing to edge him out. I don't know what it is, either. He's got a fairly basic move set, with nothing too crazy, but I just end up choking and getting dinged by everything.
He does tend to compound on you. I think you really need a couple Dashes in case your first one fails, and you can kill those skulls he shoots to kind of keep part of the arena clean. Stacking HP is always nice with the three Revives, you can usually outmuscle him if you get like 250+. You can just never get hit right after a Skull hits you, he does double damage. Good luck, it's nice getting lots of Blood and Diamonds from higher Heat.

Didn't know that about the skulls. I was always wondering what that effect was when they hit you, but was always too focused on the fight to really pay attention to it. I have been slowing things down with him lately, though, and having decent success. My health and lives usually dictate my mindset, as I usually do pretty decent when I limp into him and don't expect the fight to go that long, as opposed to being at maximum health and lives, and I get reckless.

I think it's just me. He's a bit of a damage sponge, and I just get impatient trying to wipe him out. He is a great final boss, though. I'd probably get bored with the game a lot faster, if I was just walking through him all the time. Shit always gets real when you hit that final zone.

Yeah, whole game is so good, I put 200 hours in and haven't played in a while, but they were a really fun 200. If they ever dropped a DLC I'd preorder in a second. Each Boss also has an alternate version you can activate with Heat, if you want to turn it up fast the alternate versions of Meg and Lernie aren't too bad.

He shouldn't be a damage sponge at all. He should be melting because at that point you have your final stats. There's something going on. What types of builds are you using? (this includes your mirror attributes)

I've been playing since Early Access so I can help (I have challenge videos I have recorded too such as offensive dashes for damage only)

There's nothing going on. It's rare that I get a build that is OP as hell, which I'm sure is partly my fault in some of the choices I make along the way. I'm not at a point where I'm looking for certain builds yet, and I'm still just experimenting for the most part. I only recently warmed up to Chaos boons(I hate sacrificing my health, LOL), and some of those seem to be a pretty big difference maker. I'm still feeling the game out and learning new things. I have had a few runs where everything fell into place and I smoked him, though. I like it like this though. It's a nice natural learning curve. I'm not looking to skip ahead of my own skill level and understanding of what boons compliment each other for super death god builds quite yet. I gotta figure that out myself. Once I've beaten the main story, and start really cranking up the heat, I might hit you up for some tips if I'm hitting a wall.

Actually enjoy using the gun now had a great run with it and blitzed Hades. Hated it at first.

Had a 4 win streak but that fucker has killed me 2 times in a row now

Pretty simple build ended up being really effective.

Maxed out Zag blade (extra crit after using Q), Then you just basically pump crit and dmg on your attack using Artemis/ares. Plus I had extra attack speed from Hermes and base 3 attacks from dadeulus. So the speed basically trapped targets and the dmg and crit was insane. I think it was probably the highest burst dmg build I've used.

I also took Ares boon for dmg going up for every time you use your death defiance. Admittedly, I used it like 3 times on Hades, so it's kinda glass Cannon. But super fun and after my dmg went up even more after death defiance, his power bar just melted.

Started playing monday night but so far i've had 19 attempts with 2 escapes in my last 2 runs. I just use whichever weapon i get more darkness and jewels from each run, I've only started trying to actually create a good build on the last 3 runs so it's going well.

Escape 1 - Fists - Dropkick special with loads of stuff from Ares and Athena. Killed Hades with nothing but the homing phalanx cast from Athena.

Escape 2 - Gun - Turned special into a rocket with doom, then had loads of boons from Athena and Zeus including both their legendaries.

EDIT - Make that 21 attempts with 4 escapes... 4 in a row. Escape 3 - Shield with Hangover and double blade cast with Artemis-Ares duo boon. Escape 4 - Gun again - Massive bomb that can hurt yourself with doom on it, Poseidon and Demeter cast, and Demeter epic level 6 call.

Silence, you monster!! I'll hear no more such wicked lies, half-truths, or quarter-truths! You, however, soon shall hear my blessed spear! Specifically, the sound it makes whilst sliding into your exposed midsection! Defend yourself!

Well i got 5 escapes in a row and then made a poor decision on my next attempt which ruined everything. Increased attack power but my dash got shortened and it messed up my timing on everything.

Lesson learned.

Couldn't leave it there though so i did 2 more attempts and escaped both times. Up to 25 attempts with 7 escapes, 1 with each weapon apart from the gun which has 2.

Does anyone have suggestions for a build? I haven't played in a few months now since I have over 600 hours since Early Access and it got stale for me. I want to play again but have no builds in mind and Dead Cells has worn me out lol.

Duo boon builds are highly recommended.

One i like to do is Ares-Artemis-Demeter. Spinning blades that seek foes, chill, and you can also make the blades take advantage of backstab damage. Then if you get multiple casts it just makes it so much fun.

@Ashen One have you got any fun or OP builds for me?

I just had the gun with 5 special shots instead of 1, but they were all rockets that deflected everything... couldn't see the enemies through the explosions but man was it fun.

Is this to fight Charon? I've never had the option. How do you activate it?

If you visit Charon's shop mid-level he sometimes has a bag of 300 obols you can "borrow" to start a fight with him. You don't get this option if you visit his shop at the end of a level before the boss fight.
