I think UFC and his management know how taltented he is and he's certainly at the top of the heap and could very well be a champion eventually. Dont risk taking 3 loses in a row though, get a "easy" win under your belt, get some more hype promoted around you and go from there. Facing a top level guy right and risking a 3rd loss would really set him back.

People who don't recognize how good Gustafsson is aren't fans of the sport. They're fans of the game. They prefer fight records to fights themselves. Gustafsson is one of the best in the world, and if things had fallen slightly differently for him, he coulda been champ. He still could be, especially with Jones out.

LOL I've seen it, moron. Gus poked him in the eye, Manuwa was hurt got a rest period and was still rubbing his eye after. It changed the course of the fight. Gus got the finish a minute later.

By the way, Gus has never finished a top contender. Manuwa was barely ranked in the top 10 when he fought Gus. Gus has already had the most undeserved title fight in history. Even Hendo will be coming off a win against Bisping. Gus couldn't even say that when he fought DC.

I actually agree with that but it doesn't change the fact that a lot of his fans are total morons who refuse to accept the reality of his losses. He still needs a signature win. How much longer are people going to hold on to a close loss as his main accomplishment?

Plus i'm sure someone will remind me if there are others but I can't think of any other fighter who ever got as undeserved a title shot as Gus did. After coming off a devastating loss where he got knocked the fuck out.
