Gus is so underrated it's ridiculous

Disagree. Rumble isn't half the fighter Gus is. And a motivated Gus beats DC Jones and Rumble quite easily IMO.

Rumble has bigger weaknesses, but he is not the easiest match up for Gustafsson. But yeah, I agree that Gus has all the ability to easily beat any one of those three on any night. During 2014 I thought he was the best LHW at the time and I would have slightly favored him over Jones in the rematch. He still could become the best and I think he still clearly has potential to improve, but his mindset is a real concern for me. I need to see how he looks in his next fight to see if he still is 100% about his career.

He's as tough as they come, may not have the most complete skill set but the guy always shows up to fight. How could people not like Gus is what I'm wondering, he's like a 6'5" Diaz without all the crudeness.

Gus lack of popularity has nothing to do with 'haters.' People just never really took to him. Same with Weidman. People think they're boring, or lack personality. Stop trying to blame that on Jones, or Silva fans. It's pathetic.

He is one of the best, and had great fights against Jones and DC. Rumble may have gotten an advantage from a headbutt, but unless we see that fight again, who knows if the outcome would be different.

Getting trolled. Eye pokes, headbutts, and Frankie underrated explains it all.

The guy beat Jones pretty much and got robbed. He then barely lost to DC and could have easily won that fight if he tried a bit harder. I think it's ridiculous they expect him to fight this Jan guy when he comes back, he should be rematching Rumble IMO. He needs to avenge his losses and then get a shot at the title.

Him and Frankie Edgar are the most overlooked guys in the UFC

He never best Jones

Only loses think that

Hah Gus had Rumble severely damaged up until he faked being poked in the eye. Cheap tactics, Rumble knew he was in trouble so he resorted to hitting Gus with a cheap headbutt when he wasn't ready for it.
Lol at this weak ass trolling

Alex was the cheap fighter trying to pull the stunt of faking a hand check only to have his head blasted

Dude has never accomplished much of anything other out pointing Thiago and shogun

Not sure if serious.

While I do like Gus and think highly of him. He is not in a tricky place, his 1-3 record since 2013 looks worse than it is considering he fought a close fight with DC and Jones. At the same time he didn't look impressive against his top wins in Shogun and Jimi Manuwa
How did he not look impressive against manuwa?

His last 3 losses were so tough, that's the way it goes at the highest level. He's definitely an absolute warrior.

He controlled Manuwa the entire first round and proceeded to knock him out in the second, breaking his unbeaten record.... Yeah why the fuck didn't he impress you more? damn noob needs to work on his striking game... Your name almost suits you.

Okay It's been a couple of years since I saw the fight, might remember it wrong then, my bad. But thank you for the kind words

my boy

I will start a massive campaign after the blachowicz fight

Gus is a great fighter but is 0-4 against the American athletic and explosive fighters.

He's as tough as they come, may not have the most complete skill set but the guy always shows up to fight. How could people not like Gus is what I'm wondering, he's like a 6'5" Diaz without all the crudeness.
Diaz has a chin (Jk). I don't think people dislike Gus as much as they dislike his fans. Ts is a perfect example.

He breaks/gives up too easily. He was running away from both Jones and DC in the final rounds.

Don't get me wrong, he's a great fighter. I'm a fan.

DC gassed so bad in his last fight, I would like to see a rematch with Gus
