Law Gun Control: A Global Overview

And I was laughing at how absurd that sounds to a free American.

Do you think you’re free? Obviously less free than an American, right?
America has more laws than every other country and more people in prison then every other country on the planet

"Freedom" is a sales pitch illusion.

It's the land of the free unless you want to cross the road wherever you want, or drink at a normal age for any other country, or eat a fucking kinder egg, of drive down the road without the police taking your money without actually charging you with a crime.

Freedom of speech and freedom to protect ourselves trumps what freedoms ya’ll [English- right?] have, hands down.

The freedom seems to have granted you a considerably more violent society than we have so you probably need to be able to protect yourself sure.

We have freedom of speech that allows us to not be jailed for years for posting memes. That's a bit more important than drinking 3 years earlier or eating a candy that sucks. What a pathetic reply.

Have you read the individual cases that people get arrested for or are you going off things people post on twitter?

Your countrymen are being jailed for calling out a two tier police system and you want to downplay the importance of freedom of speech. Labour guy, aren't you?

Funny, I’d imagine a North Korean might make the same argument.

No I vote green party because our mainstream parties are all shit.

Also people getting arrested for tweets is not a new thing under labour and also happened under the conservative government.

Oh god, even worse. I wasn’t playing the draconian idiocy on labour, I was guessing which variety of tyrant you support. Sad stuff. Luckily, a lot of Brits are waking up.

If we're so likely to be locked up over here why is the US prison population per capita nearly six times higher than ours?

Why do you think that's a point when the discussion is people being locked up for a specific reason? Don't change the subject because you can't defend your position of being against very basic freedoms.

Why shouldn't someone who says that people should set a hotel on fire during a riot when people are trying to set a hotel on fire be arrested? Is that a core tenement of free speech?

People act like we can't criticise the government or something.

You're being ridiculous, the UK is absolutely nothing like North Korea.
Hellowhosthat: “you guys have freedom but that makes your life more dangerous.”

Phitephan: “the logic your using is the same as a North Korean would use to justify their lack of freedom.”

Hellowhosthat: “Actually it’s different…”
