GSP's record is way better than Khabib's

GSP has 20 wins in the UFC, Khabib has 13

GSP has 9 title defenses, Khabib has 3

Only 1 out of 28 of GSP's opponents has no wikipedia... 15 of Khabib's wins are sketchy Russian guys with no wikipedia. If you google his early fights, they weren't even in a cage or a ring.

GSP won 2 titles, Khabib won 1 title

GSP avenged his losses with ease, Khabib never rematched Gleison Tibau

Almost all of GSP's fights in the UFC were against a top 10 opponent. Khabib fought like 4 or 5 top 10 ranked opponents.
This is just the tip of the iceberg.

When you start comparing their opponents that's when the real fun starts. With GSP you'll start naming fighters like Matt Hughes, Bisping, BJ Penn, Johny Hendrics, Nick Diaz, Fitch, Condit, Sherk, Jake Shields.... you can go on for days. A ton of former champs, legends....

Then you start naming Khabibs opponents and you'll get Conor, RDA, and then a shit ton of Darrel Horshers. And 0 Diazes, not even Nate.

Their careers are not on the same level. Not even close.

GSP has hos fair share of lackluster wins and mid tier guys on his resume but who cares? When they were in the UFC they both proved they were some of the best by beating everyone in front of them

Only idiots could argue otherwise.

Khabib may have perhaps the claim to being the better fighter, but resume wise GSP obviously wins. He's like 13-2 in title fights or something, while Khabib is 4-0.

Insecure GSP fans seeking validation from each other to keep the delusions burning and try to deny what they know is true.

Khabib >>>>>>>>>>>> GSP
khabib isn't even top10.... Stop with the bologna.

Dustin Poirier in 1 year will have a better resume than Khabib. He'll easily be surpassed as LW GOAT with like 6 fights against guys worth a damn.

29-0 with 16 ifghts outside the UFC..... Georges was fighting the #1 ranked fighter in MMA by fight 8. Khabib by comparison fought the great Ali-Bagov. Who? Exactly.

Even fight#-wise, GSP's loss to Serra was still in fewer fights than Khabib before he finally fought in the UFC. That is the exponential speed of difference they had to fight top-ranked fighters.

Khabib no doubt gets beat by BJ Penn by fight 8 of his career, when he literally had nothing for Gleison Tibau by fight 18.

Does anyone really think Dan Hardy was actually a top 5 WW?

Prime GSP at age like 28 Versus Khabib, I think GSP is a sizeable favorite to win the fight.. He will just likely nullify what Khabib does best.. He's too athletic, and great at wrestling.. Plus his dominant Jab..

He was unofficially ranked 6th at least here back in March 2010..

Official rankings were NOT until 2013..

Welterweight:

1. Georges St. Pierre
2. Jon Fitch
3. Thiago Alves
4. Josh Koscheck
5. Paulo Thiago
6. Dan Hardy
7. Nick Diaz
8. Matt Hughes
9. Paul Daley
10. Martin Kampmann

Those are all killers. But I still think hardy was more hype then anything. GSP had beaten everyone else. Who did Hardy beat to get a TS? Rory Markham?

It was Mike Swick. But in the 4 UFC Hardy had before the GSP fight he went 4-0 with 2 split decision wins. Then he proceeded to go 0-4 in his next 4 against legit talent.

Oh I agree GSP would've won, I think he's a terrible matchup for Khabib.

Just that performance wise I can see the argument some might have that Khabib was more dominant and maybe better skilled. I disagree, but can see why some could argue that at least compared to the records argument which is completely ridiculous.

He won the belt against Matt Hughes the then WW GOAT

Re-Open Thread..

Imagine khabub at fight 7 vs the greatest LW of all time when he lost to Gleison Tibau like 18 fights into his.... lol

Imagine not trying to change the subject when facts make your butt hurt. GSP lost his first title shot AND his first title defense. Facts.

Other fun facts:

- It was GSP's 8th professional fight, not his 7th, in which he lost his first title shot at age 23.
- Anderson Silva beat the #1 p4p fighter in the world, the #1 ranked WW, and won his first title (in his first title shot) at age 26.
-Khabib didn't lose to Gleison Tibau

GSP Can't wreck Conor, Justin and Dustin?

Can Khabib wreck Hughes, Shields, Kos?

Its two different weight classes. I was comparing level of comp. And you throw the "kos" name out there as if it is something to behold. Why do georges st pierre fans laud the name josh koscheck as some sort of titan of the sport. He finished his pedestrian career with a miserable 0-6 all ko's. His best win was a Loki level trickery win against rumble and ill give him a prime dustin hazlett. Thats the guy you are tossing out there as fairy dust to sprinkle over the mythical padded record of gsp.

GSP has a much better resume and career.

GSP moved up 15 lbs and finished the champ years after retiring. Gsp holds far more records than Khabib.

He cherrypicked Bisping because he knew he was lightyears ahead of him. GSP would have to be in his 60s to lose that fight. He knew Bisping was an easy opponent and a surefire way to boost his legacy. I don't blame him for the move. It was smart. However, acting like that farce of a win over a clearly overmatched Bisping somehow vindicates the sleepwalk he made fans endure from 2007-2013 is ridiculous. He also said he'd fight Whittaker after defeating Bisping but instead ducked the fight and went into retirement.

Didn't know this was such a touchy subject for you.. I can be nice about it..

Ok. He is still 23.. And do you know why he got the shot? BJ had bailed on the UFC with the belt, and they needed someone new for Hughes to fight for the vacant belt.. GSP had 2 fights in the UFC both on the undercard. Was that supposed to get him ready to face Matt Hughes?

-Khabib didn't lose to Gleison Tibau

No he did NOT, in the same way GSP did NOT lose to Hendricks..

Well look at Conor, who I am still a fan of BTW.. But his career/legacy is really starting to dwindle now.. That is now I guess the 2nd best win in the career of Khabib with Dustin being number 1.. It's easy to play the game you are playing..
