Anderson SIlva lost 3 fights before fight 20. *Edit* 4 upon looking at fight finder since he got DQ'ed against Okami lol
GSP was fighting the best in the world by fight 8 while Khabib fought 8 more burger flippers in Russia before fighting anyone worth a damn and it was still only fucking Kamal Shalorus at that.... Even GSP's fights in UCC and TKO were against better fighters.
Stop comparing the proven absolute greatest of all time in guys like GSP and Silva who fought like 2 dozen solid fighters, compared to Khabib's what? 10?/ lol get out.

Just the fact that Khabib has like four or five top 5 wins while guys like GSP and Silva probably have 10-15 should be enough to not even try to compare Khabib to the true greats.

WHAT? Conor is a two division champ, simultaneous two division champ. Kos has zero championship pedigree. Its not even in the same stratosphere. Conor could go on to lose every fight and still would be an all time great based on being a CHAMP in two weight classes at the same time.

I agree Conor has a greater legacy. For sure.. Just saying that legacy is starting to dwindle fast. I never thought Dustin could beat him at his own game like that.. Careers have ups and downs..

GSP’s wins are better. Khabib’s lack of losses (or near losses) are better.
Basically what you’d expect to see from two all-time greats, one who arrived earlier and fought more and one who arrived later and fought less.

GSP got his title shot in his 3rd UFC fight where he lost and he got submitted to Hughes.
Khabib was undefeated, yet he got his title shot in his 10th UFC fight (because of anti-favoritism), where he dominated Al Iaquinta, never even lost a round to him.
UFC never had anti-favoritism towards Canadian GSP, they had anti-favoritism towards Dagestani Muslim who can't speak English when he first came to USA.
They usurped Khabib's lightweight title shot in 2016 by giving it to a featherweight who didn't even have any title defenses in featherweight division, proof of their anti-favoritism. Now they act like they always loved Khabib, never had an anti-favoritism.
Khabib never had the chance to fight in USA like people like Americans or Canadians had, he had to create his own path through Dagestan to USA. It's not like he didn't want to fight high level competition, he had no one to fight at the beginning, how is that Khabib's fault when he can't find opponents from Dagestan? While UFC presented many opportunities to their Golden Boys Jon Jones and GSP.

As for Tibau, I watched that fight twice, and Khabib definitely beat Tibau in a close fight,
Also look at Tibau's face and look at Khabib's face at the end of their fight, Khabib didn't even bleed in that fight while Tibau got cut and he bled.

Conor has one win at lightweight, against Eddie Alvarez. Eddie is a good fighter. He went 4-3-1 in the UFC against solid competition, which is good. But he got his title shot on the strength of two split decision wins after losing his debut to Cerrone. This happened at a time when Khabib and Tony were in the middle of their winning streaks, and right before Poirier started his. Eddie wasn’t ever the best lightweight on the planet and it’s likely that he topped out around the back end of the top five.
It is a fact that Conor held two belts at the same time. For the only time in modern mma history, the company let him immediately leap from his first title win to a title fight in another division. When he barely went 1-1 by the skin of his teeth against Nate Diaz (who was basically at the Joe Lauzon or Jim Miller level before the Conor fights elevated him), the company still let him fight for the lightweight title, which by a happy accident happened to be held by Eddie by that point.
There are many ways to characterize the same fighter. Conor is a “double champ”, yes. He is also a 1-2 lightweight. The version Khabib beat was also coming off a significant layoff.
We can debate exactly how good a Conor win at 155 is compared to various GSP wins. But just saying “he beat a double champ and Koscheck was never champ” really isn’t a very useful way to look at it IMO. Conor was only LW champ because Khabib and Tony had bizarrely not fought for the belt yet, and because they let Conor skip the line. If Koscheck had come around when GSP was randomly delayed from reaching the mountaintop, and been vaulted into a title fight against Hughes, there’s a very good chance that he would’ve been a champion.
Fitch-Kos-Alves was in my view the welterweight version of Conor-Poirier-Gaethje, the three guys who would have been in regular contention for the belt had GSP not been there. GSP also beat Hughes twice, Condit, Diaz, Shields, Hardy, Hendricks. I don’t doubt for a second that Khabib couldn’t go on a similar run against, say, Oliveira, RDA, Hooker, Chandler, Kevin Lee, for example. If he did, he would be > GSP in most people’s eyes, by virtue of not having the losses, But he didn’t stick around to do it, which is why this is a fair debate that will never be solved.
