Grip Strength

-Tall chords and lean sinews
-Fingers that lock like castanets
-McGregor didn't
-Jam jar

I didn't really want to give away this information away, but I thought we'd have solved most of these issues by now, but we haven't and it's time for me to go to sleep.

I know how it works, from that info you smartasses can probably figure out what timezone I'm in and then it's a small step from there to me being sodomised before I wake. But I knew what the risks were when I started this thread.

Yesssss, sweet dreams ..... Sleep deeply. Very deeply.

When you feel recovered from what happened to you last night, I am expecting a 'Thigh Strength' thread. You know, for triangles and such.

Agree completely, I was going to make a similar point.

BOTH of your identities are crazy. Everyone knows it takes HEAT AND pressure to make a charcoal briquet into a diamond. Are you saying VM could generate 10's of KW of heat energy in his hands in addition to his grip strength?

Let's not go crazy here.

I think the former is an often overlooked issue these high level guys don't get enough credit for dealing with.

But the latter is the real issue people seem to have been reluctant to discuss. Why? I don't know.

On a separate note, are any of the Gracie's retarded? Maybe there was sensitivity around it if one of them is. But Maia for example isn't a Gracie. And I can think of several more people who aren't Gracie's. PM for details.
Look, if you really want us to address this topic ...

Roger Gracie is very tall AND posesses an elite Jiu-Jitsu game. Even if we don't believe the old saying, "God doesn't give with both hands" ( evidenced by Roger's height AND his skills - both hands, obviously), we have to draw the line at God having THREE hands, right? So, maybe there is something to your allegation that Malkovich was mis-cast.

This is a great thread TS. I think that grip strength is great and as such should be used more frequently.
It certainly has more room to evolve but we must take control and direction of it.

As the greatest poster on this miserable site, I GUERNICA think I can read between the lines and help some of our less enlightened sherbros.

Grip strength is a very overlooked part of mma. As a Bjj practitioner myself I can tell you that much of my success on the may came after I trained my grip like another muscle in the body. Take for instance the Dariush fight yesterday. The choke wasn't completely sunk in but Mike had a thing grip and was able to finish.

Grip strength is very important but is had to be complimented with skill and athletism.

Congrats ts. GUERNICA just put you on the map by posting in your thread. Well done. You deserve it.

How did you get two yellow cards?

Am I crazy if I tell you I presumed Palhares would have a business running industrial grade kilns and he'd would natch enter into a partnership with Matyushenko?

As an aside I'd pay cash money to watch Big Nog shake hands with the original Gracie.

Great points.

To take this down a different route, why haven't any of the big grip strength names entered Thumb War world championships for an easy buck?

Damn, double yellows for you already?

I've been letting my hands be around and even get real close to microwaves whenever possible. It seems to have improved my grip strength tremendously.

I used to be the guy to break up fights, but recently I've been letting my hands fight each other whenever they get into it. Also seems to yield amazing results.

Anyone else come across any other useful techniques?

If it's free, it's for me.

You can't spell "HEAT AND" without HAND.

Mind blown.
