I won’t make fun of children but the parents are exploiting their kid.

Kids and teenagers should enjoy the best parts of their lives and shouldn’t be mouth pieces for politics. Being an adult sucks, they’ll never get that time back to be a kid.

She has Aspergers. Such kids often pick something to be hyper focused on. It is what makes them happy. Would you encourage a parents of Aspergers kids to prevent them from playing an instrument, doing art or learning history? Is the issue that she chose political activism?

Imagine if all parents decided to stop kids from doing the thing they most enjoy, whether it be sports or arts or learning or camping or anything else. It would be a crappy time to be a kid.

It's certainly not new. It seems that the American right has been especially keen to rail against it for the same reason they rail against actors, musicians, or academics being political: because those groups rarely produce conservative voices.

11. Speaks in front of US Congress, absolutely humiliates and silences them.

Cute story but in the real world:

On the 20th of August, Greta begins her protest outside the Swedish parliament.

Four days later, her mother (a famous singer) releases a book about the climate.

On the same day, an owner of a pr-firm publishes Greta’s picture outside the parliament.

He had just happened to walk by and saw this young girl and took the picture.

Greta’s mother and the owner of the PR-firm have written several articles together, they have also been to conferences together.

After being questioned, he later admitted that he had heard about a strike outside the parliament, so he hadn’t just walked by out of chance.

A journalist also found that the PR-firm wrote in a folder that marketed the company that they were instrumental in building the Greta brand.

You can admire her, respect her but you can’t dismiss the fact that she is a well thought out marketing campaign.

His show getting canceled when it was high in ratings is wrong though imho the show was a dud. To be perfectly honest a tv show for a conservative audience is just as stupid as a show made for a liberal one. When I watch a tv show or movie I don’t want a lecture, I want to be entertained that’s it.

I'm in the same boat. It annoys me when I see political activism slipped into shows and movies 'subtly but not really subtly' and it seems quite common. Maybe I am just more sensitive to it than I used to be but it seems to be growing and causes me to lose interest in main stream stuff.

I'm a huge SNL fan. The last couple of years have been absolute cringe, but I still can't wait for the new season to start soon.
