I don't blame the fighters for that, they are on adrenaline rush and the urgency to secure the victory is more than a factor in this.

Referees are there to prevent those shots.

Herb is and has been a terrible ref for a very long time. Maybe he is physically unable to react quick enough, I am not sure what the issue is. But I think a Ref's ability to get in there when a guy can't possibly defend himself is very important. I think he has more than enough time to move in and get in the standing seatbelt position so Gregory couldn't bend at the waist and throat smash Jack. I feel like Herb has probably been way late at least 50 times in his career.

I trained fma years ago. We trained to continue attack when target was helpless because if you prepare yourself only strike against defending target you will might miss your chances when opening is there. If you hesitate and your opponent get second chance it could ruin your fight at this level.

Ref's fault 100%. Its not fighter's job to think should he punch or not.
