Greg Jackson: Powerliftings a "problem" for Jon Jones

Fuck this shit. Jones was no different to before. He fought someone THE SAME SIZE AS HIM. Its simple as that. He will never lose to a smaller opponent because the majority of his style is based around his use of range and reach. As soon as he is matched up with another physical beast those tools are gone. I knew the OSP fight wouldn't be a walk in the park.

The powerlifting excuse is exactly that, an excuse. He was ni different. The fucked thing is he still beat OSP easily just not dominantly.

I'm not sure what to think.

JJ haters have to admit that he looked a little off.

Might of been OSP throwing him of his game with his seriel killer stare and body movements.

Lets wait for his next fight, but I always said that a coked out, eating pizza 1 week before a fight JJ is the GOAT.

They (I don't know who exactly) is slowly sucking his swagger from him.

Hmm...Bones minus the coco is a little troubling.

So sad to see a young man abandon a good hobby like snorting coke and instead engaging in the despicable act of power lifting. Coke is great for your cardio, everyone knows this, even Yoda.

inb4 Cormier outmuscles Jones in the clinch and powerbombs and overpowers him
I would cream.

In his recent interviews Jones strongly suggests that he was mainly into weed and coke was the exception.

Adjustments can be made. It's the best for Jones he got this fight done before DC. Maybe scale back the lifting..

Jones is best when he's quick and fluid. He did seem a bit robotic against OSP but I think that was mostly rust and playing it safe. I think he mentioned post fight that he was thinking too much if I'm not mistaken. Definitely seemed that way.

So Jones is best when he's quick and fluid right? Can you tell us who are best when they are slow and stiff?

Greg, it's not powerlifting Jones has a problem with...it's sobriety.

I take your point .When i used to weight train i used to only train compound exercises bench press, shoulder press, squat ,dead lift and curls. The chap who run the gym was a World champion and World masters champion power lifter , he was the current World Masters champion at the time . He would be a pensioner now or perhaps dead.

You got a wild imagination bruh. I also like how your such a bad ass you felt the need to slap a guy for helping you out.

I feel like a fool thinking Jones could finish Cormier. Maybe Jones was always for so long that I had the fantasy in my head that he would return with monster KO power... powerlifting made no difference it seemed, he looked the same physically.

Greg Jackson apparently doesn't understand powerlifting. Most college, pro and even high school athletes incorporate powerlifting to increase speed, mobility, verticle jump and explosiveness these days. It's not negatively impacting his performance one bit and excuses refering to it are rather lame and unfounded.

someone needs to have a fucking word with jackson, he's absolute poison in these situations. go get some fans jon, and while we're at it go get summ donalld cheroh nayyyy

Powerlifting does not make you stiff. Scientifically proven.

It will only adversely effect his cardio IF he trains his cardio less as a result. Which is a real possibility, admittedly.

He looked fine. Just didn't pull trigger. Ring rust if anything.

Armchair Greg Jackson is born

LOL first time I've heard of them called a compound lift. Expect you did them in the squat rack too?
