I can't recall which Olympic games it was but sometime in the 90s, there was a study done where all athletes competing were measured for flexibility (range of motion) and the lifters ranked second only behind gymnasts. If you want to lift and pull extremely heavy loads with powerlifting/Olympic lifting, safely, your range of motion about the shoulder, hip and ankle has to be phenomenal.Powerlifting does not make you stiff. Scientifically proven.
It will only adversely effect his cardio IF he trains his cardio less as a result. Which is a real possibility, admittedly.
He looked fine. Just didn't pull trigger. Ring rust if anything.
