Greg Jackson: Powerliftings a "problem" for Jon Jones

The 'prayer' is ultra cringey... Holy fuckkk...

"I want you to feel water falling on your head and relax".....WAT?

So weird how this can be the same guy who practically slapped Condit and screamed at him that "This is about war!" right before Condit went out and kicked the shit out of Macdonald

Lol sorry, but no. Look at his body, he looks nothing like he did when he was powerlifting.

Yes he's standing by a manlet in the powerlifting photo, but there's a clear difference in what muscles were worked, what his bodyfat levels are, etc., between when he was powerlifting and how he looked after training for MMA. The two guys look nothing alike... because Jon stopped powerlifting months ago to get back to focusing on MMA muscles.

Powerlifting had nothing to do with his performance.

Pump vs no pump. Also he's flexing his chest in the before one.

He probably lost some too but not much. You can't lose muscle that easily unless you starve yourself.

Jackson is right, remember how powerlifting helped Mir so much against Carwin.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Do you remember the .19T/E ratio.

If you do several huge steroid cycles and then don't use the recovery drugs you'll lose 90% of the muscle you made during the cycle.

He ballooned up to 244lbs of pure ripped muscle. Then he lost 22lbs of muscle.

Can someone explain to me what the hell was the reason for Bones getting jacked to like 225, deadlifting 5 plates, then shriveling down to 205 for the fight?

Why would he tell him to believe that his cardio is there if he also believes powerlifting has damaged his cardio?

LOL at anyone pretending OSP was the "bigger man" like I read here/heard Cormier say during the fight ( " OSP is as big if not bigger than Jones " ) ...

He needs to get back to what got him to the dance in the first place, Hookers, 8ball, and a few ounces if MJ.

Troof. Look at what happened to Tiger Woods

A lot of people were going on and on before the fight about how jacked he was and how because of that he will now destroy people even worse.

To me, when i saw the pictures i thought he looked too big and that the muscle he gained would actually be detrimental to him.

I think it's funny how so many people still think muscles make you a good fighter. Sage Northcutt is a good example. People should know this by now considering how many times in MMA we have seen a muscular guy get his ass kicked by someone who isn't muscular at all.

Jones was already an incredible fighter and i think his physique was fine and suited him well.

Jones is best when he's quick and fluid. He did seem a bit robotic against OSP but I think that was mostly rust and playing it safe. I think he mentioned post fight that he was thinking too much if I'm not mistaken. Definitely seemed that way.

Lets play devils advocate though, if Jon really felt like he was tiring because of the powerlifting training, he wouldn't say this in public would he? It would only give Cormier added confidence.

His cardio looked the same as always to me it was OSp who slowed down (not surprising with 3 weeks to prepare). Also he had a long layoff I doubt powerlifting had much to do with it especially since he was maybe 5 lbs heavier than before.

It's hardlxy comparabale to Mir who went from 240 to 265+ let alone that Carwin would have done what he did either way
