NFL Green Bay Packers 2023 Differences between now and 2008

55 and rain forecast for the game Saturday. That would seem to favor the 49ers run game but we will see.

Hope the Pack pulls off the upset against the Niners. I live in the Bay Area, those fans are the worst on the planet. Would be great to rub this one in. They've had the Packers number in the Rodgers era, I'm thinking the Love era may be different.

Let's hope so.

Well I'm absolutely pissed but they should have a window here for the next few years before all these young weapons want more money. Will be interesting to see what moves they make in the off-season.

That was a golden opportunity given away by the young team, the way the game was going they straight up should have won it. They collectively blew it, even though the kicker and Love really stunk at the end. It's just so frustrating to suffer these kind of playoff losses time and time again, and you guys are far longer fans than me so it's much worse of course. Everyone saw what happened, no need to go into details right now.

I want to go to sleep on a positive note, this young team just went out there and performed against a Top 2 team in the NFL, should have beaten that team even but ultimately fell short due to own mistakes. Love has tons of upside, it's not that much he needs to correct anymore. 5 picks in the Top 100. At least some cap space. Not a whole lot of holes to fill. Future should be good.

Tough, tough loss but the team was 3-6 and 2-5, now the big bad 49ers are lucky to have survived their home game. Curb stomped the Cowboys. Good night fellas. :)

I guess it's just him being young, but man, Love just forgot how to play at the end. Everything went down the tubes.

I'm still fuckin stoked to see what they do in the draft, and can't wait to flush this Safety room, but, man. Shitty.

Missing those two EASY completions to Kraft (pick) and then Jones (punt) hurt so much, then he played hero ball when it wasn't needed at all at the end. Just something he needs to work on, he's a cool cat, but got rattled badly at the end.

It sucks, like a lot. But it is what it is. No moral victories or style points here.

Was a fun season and 2024 and beyond could be very interesting. I just don't want to see the Niners in the playoffs again for a long time, lol.

They won a game they weren't supposed to against the Cowboys and beat the 9.5 point spread in the 49er game.

I wanted the Niners to win, but feel GB deserved that win. They were a joy to watch this playoffs. Hopefully Love can learn from his Brett Favre brain fart and get better.

After re-watching the game, there were so many pivotal plays. Going for it on fourth down early on instead of trying the field goal and getting a questionable spot. Of course they couldn't count on the kicker. The two dropped interception chances. A couple of dropped passes. The tipped ball on the pass that was slightly behind the receiver for the first interception. A difficult but catchable pass in the end zone Of course the final interception of a pass forced into coverage on first down with 52 seconds left and 2 timeouts. I suppose it was a little less traumatic to lose the way the Packers did than to lose the way Buffalo did at home.

GB just can't close out these closely contested playoff games. I don't know why, and frankly I don't care why they can't. I just want them to start doing it more frequently at some point, lol.

Future should be bright, but nothing is easy and gifted in the NFL. A bad draft class (which should be due, but I hope not of course) and a few key injuries and they might not make it back there. Definitely a missed chance, because they were the better team in that game against the 49ers and already beat the Lions before.

If you guys don't mind, I'll make the 2024 season thread but in a few weeks time. Think it makes sense to wait what happens with Barry first, and maybe some other decisions like the Bakh one, Love contract etc. were made by then. Then the thread could focus on the free agency and draft.

Fans were at the airport to greet the Packers at 4 AM

That's awesome. :)

Oh well, that was quick. Joe Barry is gone!

I thought that LaFleur might keep him, considering that after all he had a year left on his deal, which was ridiculous by the way. That either means they gave him 4 years or extended him once lmao. Firing Joey B won't do anything if the holes on defense aren't closed (some playmakers would be cool, too) AND IF THEY DO NOT GET THE NEXT DC RIGHT :D

Unpopular opinion...I don't think Barry was that bad. They had some duds for sure but every single defense in the league has off weeks. I think it's going to be funny when they are equally as shit next season and everyone calls for lafleur to fire the D coordinator AGAIN. It's fucking hard to play consistent GOOD defense with the way the league is now with offense.

lol, are you me?

I've said it before, Barry isn't a defensive genius, but neither was Capers. But when Capers had the pieces he had two top 5 units in 2009/2010 and when he got Peppers in 2014, that unit become a championship defense down the stretch.

And that's exactly what's going to happen unless Gute drafts some dudes ready to play in 2024 or someone like Van Ness is a monster in his second season. LaFluer better choose his guy wisely this time.
