Golovkin said no catchweights. It "disrespects boxing."

They say they will fight Hopkins if the Canelo fight falls through. The snag with Canelo seems to be the catch weight. So they'll turn down Canelo at a catchweight to fight Hopkins at a catch weight. *shrug*

yeah, people fight at catchweights when they're two divisions apart, that usually happens. Canelo and Golovkin are in the same weight class. There shouldn't be a catchweight when you fight in the same weight class, especially not if you're the lineal champ. That's what's disrespectful, not the catchweight itself. Especially given that Golovkin has called for catchweights against Ward as well.

Out of curiosity, what did I say that's so shocking? I don't think anything I said seems particularly wrong or makes me look like an ass. I'm certainly not the one making a thread to spite others over something pretty much nobody cares about. Nor am I the one trying to see something that's not there. Something tells me you need a vacation Seano.
 
Eh fight for the championship in your division is different than fighting a guy from a different weight class for nothing but money and bragging rights.

I'm not interested in seeing this, though. Hopkins needs to retire (said everyone for the last 10 years).

I don't know why you guys are talking about me. I didn't propose this awful catch weight thing. Weren't we all talking about how ridiculous catchweights were not that long ago? And wasn't it me who said I personally don't give a shit about catchweights? Pretty sure it was.

I never said it's ducking, just that it's shitty and shouldn't be done for a lineal title fight of this caliber.

Also, notice how Ward is ALSO a weight division above Golovkin. I've said nothing inconsistent here.
