Wouldn't call this a 'New Years Resolution' because those are doomed to fail, but I'm trying something different.
Wouldn't even call it a 'diet' but a lifestyle change.

I'm completely avoiding all foods & drinks with more than 1 gram of added sugar per serving for one month. I'll sparingly consume fruits and honey.

I'm 6'0 and was 224 pounds when I weighed in on Dec 31st.
All of the general diet advice I already know. I've gone from 245 pounds to 180 in the past, though that was 5+ years ago.

As for what I'm mostly going to eat... Its mostly going to be meat whenever I feel hungry. I'm probably going to be drinking two gallons of water and half a gallon of coffee a day.

Wish me luck Sherbros!

Why stop there… go carbs and dairy too

I hope you're exaggerating. That could actually be dangerous.

Not exaggerating.
Keeping your stomach full of liquids is an effective way to not get hungry.

I'll be drinking throughout the day.
Tom Brady (The GOAT) was doing 2.5 gallons of water per day when he was playing. It seemed to work out well for him.

Don't forget the electrolytes.

Electrolytes are mostly salt, and the meat I'll be cooking with have salty rubs applied.
Very sure I'll be fine.

That's definitely a diet and unfortunately you're doomed to fail. Why not just do something more sensible like low carb, high protein?

10 litres of water a day man I would be pissing 40 times a day

Best of luck with it! That's really good for your body, but you don't have to lie to us about being 6'0", 224 lbs..... we all know you're 6'3", 240lbs and completely jacked.

I gave up breakfast years ago, and I skip lunch a few days a week for intermittent fasting. My son got me really back into lifting early last year; it's all been really good.

yea sure, excessive sugar is poison.
been addicted to it since childhood.
no dibeetus though. all my blood work comes back cool tbh.
even just before bed sometimes, I'll wash down a cookie with a swig of vodka from the freezer.
..that's a whole other issue.

It's been the third year without sugar for me. Once you "survive" that first crisis, you don't even think about sugar anymore. Good luck, you'll feel much better without it.

Very incorrect.
This isn't for a year, only a month.
After that I'll probably have a cheat day and adjust the nutrition.

I'm very strong minded and this isn't my first rodeo.

How my weight got above where I prefer it to be is because of sugary cappuccino and $10 specialty pizzas from Dominos.

Carbs is just as bad as sugar. They turn to glucose inside your body soon as you eat it. And they're in everything. Bread, rice, potatoes, etc...

Also fruits are high in sugar and honey is basically pure sugar

Then I'm curious why the potato diet is so effective at weight loss.

There's a big difference between processed & natural sugar.
