GOAT contenders Post USADA

Mousasi only has 6 fights under USADA testing , 5-1 record with only Weidman and Belfort as his top 10 wins. Also no belts and no defences.
I mean it on a whole - 46-6 as a clean fighter and from age 19,20- till present was anywhere from champ to top 10 the whole way over 2 weight classes. " one of the goats" and never got his chance to fight for UFC gold......and this just my opinion- today TODAY (not 5-6 years ago) he d have great chance at being UFC champ today.
Again- just one man's opinion.

*also 10-1 (and the "1" was validated as he dominated both fights outside of 13 seconds which resulted in a tko loss) in past 5 years.

Would you count Mighty Mouse's streak going back before USADA (based on his having passed every post USADA test), or you can only count wins after testing started?

The problem is, if we count wins prior to USADA starting, then it opens the door to guys having wins where there was no real drug testing.

Mighty Mouse fought 7 times under USADA and only lost a close fight to Cejudo. Also all 7 of the guys he fought post USADA were top 10 in their weight class. Plus all were title defences.

He has an amazing record but the issue here is how do we take anyone's W/L record into account prior to aggressive drug testing?

I'm a big fan of Ben Askren but he has literally only had one fight under USADA testing his entire career...

I agree with this answer. The sport is way to young to have GOATs.

Ok fair enough so lets call them P4P top 10 guys?

Who are the current P4P best fighters that fall under the listed criteria?

Holloway
DC
Khabib
Mighty Mouse

looks pretty damn different than the traditional GOAT list.

I 46-6 as a clean fighter .

Nope. He spent a considerable amount of time in Japan with zero testing. He may or may not have been clean, but we have zero evidence that he wasn't doing PEDs. Also, he was in Strikeforce for quite a while and is now in Bellator. Testing in Scott Coker orgs is HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE at best. Puffy-faced Ubereem, Bigfoot, Barnett and Werdum never got busted in SF, but all 4 got caught in the UFC--some of them before USADA, almost as soon as they got to the UFC. And you have to seriously question some current Bellator fighters.

He gets credit for his USADA period but nothing else.

I considered Khabib but he has only 5 fights post USADA and only 3 top 10 wins (Johnson wasn't top 10 at the time they fought). Plus he has no title defences.

Cormier however did go 6-0-1 and defended the HW strap twice
Johnson was ranked 6 when they fought

And Khabib defended his title against Conor

Johnson was 1-2 going into that fight in his last 3. Poirier had zero top 10 wins going into his fight with Johnson

Beating a guy with no top 10 wins doesn't put you in the top 10....

No gymnastics required, simple facts

No one on this forum should ever consider "UFC" rankings official by any stretch of the imagination
Johnson was top 10, simple fact. I guess your just trying to discredit Khabib's win over him, by completely disregarding the actual official rankings. Lol

Still Jones and Silva since both were proven innocent

Silva was found innocent ... Jones was guilty for UFC 200 and guilty for UFC 214.

He was found innocent for the Gus and Smith fights in that he tested positive for aftereffects of his already punished guilty sentence for 214.

Kamaru Usman has fought his entire UFC career under USADA, no positive tests, and 10-0 in the deep welterweight division. He is actually on track to have a better record than GSP with or without USADA.

MJ had wins over Porier, Melvin Guillard, Tibau, Barboza, Lauzon, Catillio, and Ferguson. He was top 10, that is a fact

In addition, Mousasi's 46 wins include a lot of "who?!" "huh" and "how old was he when they fought??" guys before he came to the UFC. We're talking Steve Mensing, Gregory Bouchelaghem, Tsuyoshi Kurihara, Stefan Klever, Chico Martinez, Erik Oganov and a ton of other guys no one has ever heard of. 30-6 would be a more realistic assessment of his career...unless you're the type who gets excited about Travis Fulton's 300 wins (as someone here mentioned earlier).

"On track" and actually getting 9 title defenses are totally different things. He looks good, but let's wait a few years.

You do know rankings change right? Or that he was 1-2 at the time he fought khabib? Or that Poirier who he had just beat had zero top 10 wins going into that fight

https://www.sherdog.com/news/rankings/6/Sherdogs-Official-Mixed-Martial-Arts-Rankings-112291

Here were the rankings October 2016 just prior to his fight with khabib

top 10 LW at that time:

Alvarez
RDA
Cerrone
Ferguson
Barbosa
Chiesa
Brooks
Dariush
Dunham

No Johnson... He has been in the top 10 rankings but wasn't at that time.

Travis Fulton just got his 255th win (forearm choke!) and has 318 sanctioned matches. He should be in the GOAT conversation just for durability alone.

Oh and he's 41.

Riverboat casino and county fair GOAT.

MM will always get my vote. 15-2 at 135 and 13-1-1 at 125. Super well rounded, creative, and holds several records. Dude is something special
