Glover Shoulda Retired After Beating Jan

This will be the biggest payday of his career by a long shot. Glover has plenty of other loses. Future ones will do nothing to tarnish his legacy. They will however help his bank account.

I’m not convinced that he isn’t a defending champ though, jiri has bad Tdd last we seen. I can see him out wrestling Rakic, and he’s already beaten santos, smith, Jan etc

Yeah, why make a few million when you can retire and make the Sherbros wank to your "legacy?"

I swear it feels like half the time I'm talking to teenagers on Sherdog.

They don't have an understanding of what it means to earn a living.

After decades of hardship, including coming from a village with no electricity, not seeing his wife for years and a bunch of other sacrifices... Glover finally gets the belt and PPV bonus opportunities, and TS wants him to retire.
I meant to reply to this before... Couldn't have put it better.

Glover has been blacklisted, ducked, denied, and generally shat of for so long that it was actually amazing he even got to the UFC... Then he gets his teeth knocked into the front row by Rumble, loses a chunk of earning %, and people stopped believing in him... He takes a TS for peanuts, and somehow wins the biggest prize in MMA, a highly lucrative one that comes with subscriptions and all kinds of opportunities, champs pretending to be ill just to keep earning without fighting...

Interviews, UFC promo gigs... We're a long way from the seminar days, #UFCCHAMP brings big business... Just look at Aljo.

Madness to even mention retiring, romantic though it seems in the movies.

I wouldnt have been mad had he done it, and kinda thought he would.

If he defends against the whirlwind of violence they have him up against next, it sends a statement. He should def hang them up if he defends against Jiri….

legacy only matters to fans, he's got mouths to feed, and he's making his highest paychecks now

I think it is noble for a champ to keep fighting until he drops the strap

It's not like Glover's legacy is that he was a dominant undefeated champion. This is a guy who crawled up to the top from the middle of the pack and I would respect him for going out on his back

Yeah, I think so too. It's probably for the best.

But think about it from Glover's perspective. The dude had numerous falls from grace in his career and yet he manages to become champion. That grit, that mentality to continue to fight is why he won't... why he cant just retire

And missing out on his biggest payday? That would be extremely stupid. It's about making money. No one will care for his legacy in some years.

He just had one of the best fights of all time, I don't really see this fight as hurtful to his legacy.

For all the talk about Glover being old, he actually looked pretty good overall. He was gonna win the scorecards if not for the last minute sub, against a much younger guy. I myself even thought Jiri would beat him somewhat easily, but instead Glover proved me wrong

The dude is being an "almost-star" in fight sports. Of course he wants to remain so

There is no "fairy tale ending" for a fighter who was never even second best let alone the best in over a decade, and only became champ when all 4 superior fighters left the sport/went past their primes. What a dumb TS post. Let these guys earn their money and retire on their own terms, not yours.

Retire and rob us of that amazing fight he just had with Jiri? You must be a Khabib fan lol
