Props to Glover for getting it done but his story seems like a testament to sticking around until all the guys who beat you retire, switch weight classes or just generally lose motivation to fight, then hoping that the new generation isn’t as strong as the previous one.Getting the belt is huge for him.
I think he made the right choice.

I mean specifically against Jiri. Why would he feel confident specifically fighting Jiri? Is there some weakness in Jiri's game that Glover think he can exploit? Of course he should be confident. That's not even a question.because everyone's gotta lose sometime? so why not against Glover? a fighter not being confident is very rare and usually means they're already beaten. they don't think the same way normal people do.
