I can see Conor winning the rematch. Nate has a ton of losses and the blueprint to defeat him has been utilized by many fighters already. All he has to do is come in with a solid, intelligent gameplan which he is more than capable of doing.
What he will not be doing in the 2nd fight is headhunting. His reach was always JUST short of connecting, and Diaz has a great chin and head movement as well as him being another southpaw makes things a little awkward for Conor. Conor has been having great success so far doing what he does - albeit as one dimensional it is - it does work well with many fighters. But styles make fights and I hope he realizes that he cannot go rushing in to KO Diaz. He will have to get within reach, and pick him apart patiently and not over-exert himself.
They are both great strikers, and have somewhat similar styles with Conor's being more flashy and implementing more kicks. Diaz is aggressive, so is Conor but Conor is also a good counter striker and perhaps he can out box Diaz if he just sits back and waits for a good opening. But Diaz also has an ability to overwhelm his opponents so Conor will have to make sure he doesn't get stuck in this situation or at least try to counter by over whelming Diaz himself.
Either way it will surely be another great fight and I do believe that Conor is the better fighter, he just had a bad night and found out the hard way that you can't use the same strategy (if you want to call it that) for every fighter. Stylistically Diaz could either be a very bad or very good matchup for Conor depending on how he wants to handle it. Difference between good fighters and great fighters is the great fighters are more well rounded and can change their game to play against their opponents strengths and weaknessess.
Then of course there are legends like GSP that destroy their opponents at their own game, like out wrestling a world champion wrestler etc. If Conor wants to be a legend, he will have to evolve. He certainly has the potential. Knocking out Jose Aldo is a start but there is still work to be done if he wants that golden career.
