He faced actual challenges and every time he did (Usman and Leon), he lost. 0-3, no wins over guys actively fighting on the roster. So you'd rather he fight yet another old timer past the age of 37 on a two fight losing streak? I just want him to face an actual challenge. If he can beat someone like JDM or Ian Garry it will be an actual accomplishment. If he fights Burns what will that actually tell us? Absolutely nothing, he'll get to keep his top 5 status, and he might even get another title shot off of it if he waits a year. I'm sick to my stomach of the old guys perpetually remaining in the rankings and only having to fight other old guys. Enough of that crap. Colby needs to fight someone under the age of 35.
Colby needs to fight Burns just to earn a shot at someone on the up. Geoff Neal is fine.
Hell, give Colby an unranked guy that is 25 for all i care. He 100% deserves a fight against Gilbert before a fight against JDM and Garry though. Those guys are too highly ranked at this point and Gilbert should be on the outside of the top5 at this point.
A win shouldn't do much for Colby at this point and he should need several wins before getting another shot. This is to say he deserves to maybe be in the top10, nothing more, nothing less.
