In before Burns stares blankly at the arena's ceiling wondering what happened.
burn was a terrible match up for usman and we saw it in the first round but burn is also a small WW with no chin"Horrible matchup" based on what? I know there's a lot of hype about Khamzat and still some questions about him, but what glaring weakness of his can Burns exploit? Wouldn't Burns also be a horrible match-up for Usman?
So do I. Burns is just too small.I think the size discrepancy is going to look comical on fight night.
Gustafsson who trains with Khamzat, said a couple of months ago that he had a hard time believing how Khamzat makes 170; since he holds his own against Light Heavyweights in training, and has the power of a LHW. Khamzat will be 195 to 200 pounds in the cage fight night. Khamzat is also 6 foot 2 also, so Burns (who is a legit 5 foot 9) will definitely look small in the cage. Burns also only has a reach of 71 inches also. He is also a small WW. I think Khamzat's size will give him a great advantage over Burns in the fight. So do I. Burns is just too small.
Yes they would. Honestly, this is a stupid point I hear brought up a lot. Every fight is a risk. Taking an unnecessary risk that basically gives little to no benefit is an easy choice. Fighters not wanting to fight someone they really shouldn't be fighting is not any kind of evidence that they're not sure of themselves. But it also confirms the risk they associate with Khamzat. If he was all hype it wouldn't be a problem because it would be easy work. That many fighters turning it down because they consider it too risky just validates how they perceive Khamzat's skill set. They know they can lose and don't want to risk it without getting paid more. While others would rather just turn it down completely.
For example O'Malley isn't asking for more money to fight Kris because he is considered easy work, the top 10 wouldn't turn down a fight with Kris but they will with Khamzat in their division. These are the type of details that fans miss that only fighters may notice.
I'm part of that crowd. It's not cuz I want Khamzat to fail. It's cuz I want to see him beat people who are good. It's the same standard I hold of all fighters. No matter how good someone looks, they still have to show that consistency across levels and time, which earns them the right. It would be funny if Khazmat destroys Gilbert because it would get rid of the yeah well who has Khazmat fought that was good crowd

Technically Burns should of styled on Usman but he got rocked by every jab and got knocked out. We knew that Usman wouldn't try to wrestle burn since he never even try to ground and pound against a gasssed maia and just ran from every grappling exchange and we knew his striking is ass so burn should have won if it was not for his chin and size.
For khamzat we dont know were his striking and willingness to engage an elite bjj artist is so we can only speculate but burn is naturally a good counter to wrestler. Thats why he is consider a bad match up for khamzat
If he loses it turns into well yeah he was never actually gonna win the titleCould you imagine the shit storm if Khamzat loses?
I think burns will quickly realize how useless his BJJ is against top level wresters, especially nowadays.
Burns said he wanted more money and better contract to take this fight.
He also thinks he will win.
Khamzat gonna make Burns and Ali pay for holding him back this long.

I want to see hype tested and proven, not accelerated based on theory.
Dustin walks around heavier than ColbyWell I'm not gonna crap on Burns because this guy should and deserves to get more money, as should most fighters. And unlike other top fighters, Burns is willing to risk a lot and fight an undefeated monster like Khamzat. Burns is ranked number 2 and willing to fight number 11.
Meanwhile the number 1 ranked WW, Colby, is begging for a fight against LW Dustin Poirier.
It's like all these top tier jits dues like Ryan hall, kron, tonin, etc.. are showing it's nobody's crytopnite anymore. Not sure why burns thinks he's royce Gracie 100 years ago loldude couldn’t sub or even get dominant positions on a 40 year old karate guy lol
