When it gets to the point where we universally accept the "hate label", that's when you know shit is about to get real.
 
There needs to be a very clear delineation of what constitutes hate speech if this law is to be passed.

What constitutes hate speech? Is questioning immigration policy hate speech? Is fervently disagreeing with a political agenda while using some curse words hate speech? This is where these laws get dangerous and liberals and conservatives alike should worry about them. Free speech is the foundation for all other freedoms. Without it, you have nothing.

I misunderstood the original post.

But Merkel is against gay marriage and abortion for example. And a fiscal conservative.
Pretty much the only nonconservative thing Merkel did were the migrants.
Have you seen Germany's budget the last few years? We still got a big surplus even with all those migrants.

Which other western countries can claim that? Japan doesn't have any migrants and his for in the red.
Ok the US has a lot more migrants compared to Germany but they budget deficit is even worse than Japans.
 
This is how it will work.

Germany can police what someone in the USA posts about Mohammed being a scum warlord pedo who raped 9 year olds. Effectively creating Sharia Law.

So somebody in America posts something "hateful" on Twitter/War Room/Reddit/4Chan etc. Some German pro-open-border, refugee-welcome reports it. If Twitter doesn't remove the offending post, Germany fines Twitter.

Germany has no jurisdiction over the individual in America, but it claims jurisdiction over Twitter, which via nature of the internet, has a platform for such speech to be viewed in Germany to Germans.

The only counter-argument is if Germans are accessing the "hate-speech" internationally. If so (no German servers for example) then it falls on Germany to censor what its citizens can access. I actually hope the latter is the case. Germans don't deserve the War Room.
 
Great on paper until you have to deal with the whole "who decides what is hate speech" "What actually is hate speech" stuff.

Fines are an insufficient deterrence. Violators should face public execution by state authorities.
