General MMA Discussion & Future Lines- 2020

Is it me or Marlon Vera has a real shot at beating O'Malley? I like Vera in this fight, specially at +230. He has never been finished, has only lost decisions, scrappy af, granite chin, good cardio. Sounds like a real test for O'Malley.

I agree, he's being disrespected right now by the bookies. Got robbed against the Song Yadong as well. I think he can really give O'Malley fits if he survives the 1st round. Because I still have doubts about Sean's cardio.

I also like Starapoli's line against Means. I feel like Starapoli is a decent prospect and Means is just completely shot.

Am I crazy or Junior dos Santos @ +130 is a great line? Im not sold or Jairzinho, he seems lime another hype train about to be derailed.

I dont know, I think Dos Santos kinda plays into Jairzinho's style. The way to beat Rozenstruik is to grapple fuck him like Overeem did until he got caught. I fear Dos Santos is just gonna duke it out on the feat and get himself ko'ed. Nonetheless, I do think the line is a bid wide and judging from a couple instagram pictures, Dos Santos seems to be in the best shape of his life.

I think JDS can win a clearish decision with just the jab and basic boxing/feinting/movement. Rozen hasn't impressed me all that much but JDS is pretty worn, I think it should be a pick em tbh.

Idk if JDS is that worn tbh, dude ate a hard Hail Mary shot from Black Beast without issue

Against Blaydes he had to worry about the wrestling so couldn't defend striking properly. Rozenstruik doesn't present that threat

And Francis... Well, everyone gets knocked out by Francis lmfao

JDS has slowed down and isn't as prime as Rozen but that isn't too say he's completely washed or worse than Rozen. Prime JDS ends this within 2 I think

I feel that Rozen is yet another hype train or product of the UFC marketing machine, he really hasnt been dominant like they make him out to be. He was dominated by a battle worn Overeem, and got brutally KOd by Francis. Before that he beat up a bunch of nobodies, I just dont see the whole hype behind him.

No USADA. But we have yet to see what Rozenstruik looks like right now.

I'm not posting lately, but saw a couple of lines on the UFC 252 card that seemed quite off to me.

First - O'Malley vs. Vera. How in the hell is this thing that wide? I like Sean, but him being in the -300 range vs. anybody that experienced, tough (and not shopworn) like Vera is just silly. His gastank hasn't been tested since he got back into fighting after the big hiatus. Could be another Shahbazyan. I'm not sold on him yet... Vera on the other hand is not trustworthy. At all. He's notorious for starting slow and getting himself in early trouble and also he doesn't seem capable of winning decisions. Yeah, If I had to pick a winner, I would pick O'Malley, but bettingwise - he's too pricey for that close of a match-up.

Merab is a takedown machine, but he's very, very hittable and Dodson is primed to make him pay for his sloppy hands. I don't get that line either. Dodson has his own sets of problems, but typically guys who beat him do it in a very smart and controlled manner. They don't just throw themselves at him, because he is that dangerous. Even Yan had to use caution.

Cigano as an underdog vs. Jairzinho? Are you kidding me? He's not that done. He should be the favourite. Not a big favourite, tho. He has the edge in cardio, footwork (and experience). Bigi Boy is kinda stuck in the mud. And he's getting hit with straight punches way too easy. Uses a bit of a sqared stance, and not much head movement. One thing JDS loves is his jabs. To the body and head. This is pretty simple fight. Junior should, in theory at least, be able to safely outpoint Roze in a boring decision.

A lot of you guys said these things before me @BigSteve @Tirimasuperman @careto @Kamais_Ookin @DonQ94 So I'm not writing something particulary special or new. But still decided to add my thoughts if you don't mind. :)

Can't wait to see how emaciated Cody looks at 125.
Weight cut done! Ready to win another title Dana!

I don't believe it would be a crazy cut, Cody is a pretty small BW..
He doesn't really look like he has that much more weight to lose. Around the time of the Lineker fight, people said TJ could cut to 125 easily too.

Man...IDK. He's shredded at 135. 10 more lbs is a LOT when you are talking about these tiny weight classes.

Esp for a guy with a suspect chin anyway. Now he's gotta dehydrate himself even more? Yeah...doesn't sound like a great idea.
