I'm not posting lately, but saw a couple of lines on the UFC 252 card that seemed
quite off to me.
First - O'Malley vs. Vera. How in the hell is this thing
that wide? I like Sean, but him being in the -300 range vs.
anybody that experienced, tough (and not shopworn) like Vera is just silly. His gastank hasn't been tested since he got back into fighting after the big hiatus. Could be another Shahbazyan. I'm not sold on him yet... Vera on the other hand is not trustworthy. At all. He's notorious for starting slow and getting himself in early trouble and also he doesn't seem capable of winning decisions. Yeah, If I had to pick a winner, I would pick O'Malley, but bettingwise - he's too pricey for that close of a match-up.
Merab is a takedown machine, but he's
very, very hittable and Dodson is primed to make him pay for his sloppy hands. I don't get that line either. Dodson has his own sets of problems, but typically guys who beat him do it in a very smart and controlled manner. They don't just throw themselves at him, because he is that dangerous. Even Yan had to use caution.
Cigano as an underdog vs. Jairzinho? Are you kidding me? He's not
that done. He should be the favourite. Not a big favourite, tho. He has the edge in cardio, footwork (and experience). Bigi Boy is kinda stuck in the mud. And he's getting hit with straight punches way too easy. Uses a bit of a sqared stance, and not much head movement. One thing JDS loves is his jabs. To the body and head. This is pretty simple fight. Junior should, in theory at least, be able to safely outpoint Roze in a boring decision.
A lot of you guys said these things before me
@BigSteve @Tirimasuperman @careto @Kamais_Ookin @DonQ94 So I'm not writing something particulary special or new. But still decided to add my thoughts if you don't mind.
