After 2008, the gay people got everything they ever wanted - equal rights, no job discrimination, representation in TV shows, marriage, etc.

So all the LGBTQ organizations like GLAAD and Stonewall needed another cause to hang their hat on. Because they can only raise money if they're fighting for a "cause." Hence they migrated to the trans stuff.
