Being told to deny objective reality and demanding I say what I know not to be true does affect me, it affects everyone. Having mentally ill men entering bathrooms and changerooms with my niece, or sister, or wife, that affects me too. I agree that higher education makes more people empathetic, but certain subjects will not disregard their entire field of study to appease a small group of people with psychological issues.

The only time you will ever hear cis and trans in a STEM program is when you take Organic Chemistry.

Aside from that, if you want to discuss trans topics, your bio/genetics/evo/ecology/anatomy professor will tell you to sign up for gender studies or abnormal psych.

It would be like asking your bio teacher to do a section on 2 headed humans, because 0.01% of the population is born with 2 heads. It’s a totally natural condition, right? So why not spend valuable time teaching all children that humans can be 1 or 2 headed?

Anyone who isn’t brain rotted will say that’s a dumb idea.

I have a background in biochem and organic chemistry studies as well. Just because something isn’t part of a curriculum or occurs rarely in a population, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. A psychiatric disorder doesn’t account for 100% incidents of transgenderism. There is a genetic component to it and you would never be “laughed out of a room” unless you were in a creationist studies class.

That you cannot pull those apart and that you think sex determines gender is your own assumption, which is not based on "biological fact" but on a confusion of different explanatory registers.
