Meh, when you take the change in the dollar into account, prices aren't that much higher than in the past if at all.Your math is right. We're getting ripped off.
In 2014, prices here (in PEI) hit almost 1.45/l. That was 10 years ago. What would that be in today's dollars, do you think?
According to inflation tool.com, $100 in 2014 is worth the equivalent of $129.51 today. That suggests we're actually paying less now @~1.70/l than we did then, I think. Doesn't it? According to the calculator on that website, gas would need to reach over $1.90/l to be higher than we paid back then if I'm understanding correctly how it works.
