Wasnt their fight some sort of #1 contender fight already? Why rematching the same guy, in the end we have 1 undefeated guy, potentially the next champion, and the other guy´s single loss is to Shavkat who before that fight had a 100% finish rate, this is one of the most pointless instant rematches in years, let that rematch build up properly.

I don't think Shav deserves a title shot from his last performance. The fight was too close w too little action. title shots should be based on performance, not just how high ranked the fighter is.

Would like to see the rematch w a stipulation. If the fighters do too much point fighting, neither will receive a title shot.

Shavkat comfortably beat Ian Garry. If Ian wants to go on about that fight then Prates had a better performance vs Ian. Shavkat had a short period where his back was taken and Ian had a loose rear naked that was perfectly defended. Ian Garry literally survived in the 5th and was a single shot from being finished. Prates did more in his fight vs Ian than Ian did vs Shavkat.

That sound reasonable, it would be too much time since Shavkat last win to get a TS but crazier things have happened, I think it depends of the state of the division upon his return.

Buckley getting a TS if he beats Usman doesn't sound bad especially if it's by a crazy KO, also Garry might need an impressive finish before getting a TS, despite his persinality and wins he doesn't look like an exciting contender to the belt.
