Gane wants to take a few months off for family reasons

Gane just got the biggest payday of his career plus 50 g’s. He’s in a very strong negotiating position as well. Ngannou and Gane should gameplan with each other and ask for millions in guaranteed money plus ppv points to unify the belt that Dana forced. What the fook is Dana going to do if both his champs hold out for big $$$?

Gane plays this right and he’s filthy rich within the next 12 months. Enjoy the fam Gane!

Sherdoggers seem to think legally binding contracts signed with billion dollar corporations are now no longer enforceable.

The idiots in the MMA media, who are legitimately stupid, are really rubbing off on the average fan. Sad to see.

The contract does’t force the fighter to sign a bout agreement that he thinks is unfar, period. Dana has said himself that he can’t force anyone to fight if they don’t “want” to. Dana will just move on in the division.

The unique problem for Dana here is that if both Gane/Ngannou request insane money for the match up or they will sit out, Dana is screwed because he already went the interim champ route.

Just a unique situation here.

^ That is Ganes coach and manager Fernand Lopez

The scenario you outlined would never happen for a number of no reasons; the foremost being maintaining good relations with the UFC is more important to Lopez than trying to get every last dime out of the UFC.

Nassourdine Imavov (UR), who fights out of MMA Factory (Lopez's gym), got booked to fight Edmen Shabayzan (#11 MW) on the November PPV. Representing a UFC champion while simultaneously maintaining good relations with the UFC matchmakers can work to the benefit of other fighters under ones management.

He also has a seething hatred towards Ngannou, even if he won't go out and say it directly; they will never work together on anything.

He's fought 4 times in the last year which is pretty active. He's earned a little r & r.

He fought 3 times during a Covid year. Give him his 5 months

Gane more than any one deserves a break

He has fought four times in a space of 8 months, that’s a fight every two months.

If anyone has a earned a break it’s him and it’s not fair some these guys can sit out for years for their own comfort.

UFC is a joke though, where active fighters are punished.

Strip him of his fake belt then. Sick of these cowards flagrantly ducking like this using their generic one-note families as a pretext.

This era of champs is the worst ever. Win the belt and then take time off or get surgery for long lasting injuries you put on hold and wouldn't have gotten if you didn't get the belt
I member champs fighting 3-4 times a year back in the days.

At least a millenial with values. But I'm not expecting younger people to comprehend. I mean after all having a newborn and wanting to have family-life is so boomerish/generation X stylee to millenials or genZ(nowflake) cucks

don't get why people are upset by this

this changes nothing

Ngannou is still chasing zebras in Africa for all we know

He is likely going to fight in December or January. There isn't a fight card in Houston that the UFC wants Lewis to fight for a belt though so I don't think we will have a second interm title.
