He seems to have wanted to fight in September, which I find credible. I have no issue with champs fighting twice a year, but I get if people want 3 fights a year.

Having said that, it's the UFC's fault here. They want to have their cake and eat it too by controlling belts but not creating contractual requirements to defend because would handcuff them.

Because he would have made 2 or 3 times more fighting Jon Jones, if we're being conservative. I'm not going to knock a guy for not fighting for 5 months because he's hoping for the superfight. Again, if you want champs to defend a certain amount of times per year, go write the UFC telling them to make rules regarding them. But they won't...I wonder why...
