Gane vs Spivak: does Gane have terrible, average or good TDD?

I honestly don’t think this illustrates anything other than Jon’s desire to get the fight to the ground.
Gane doesn't do any of the things he should have done to try to escape that position.

I disagree. I think it shows a lot. Gane over commits to a wayward left that left him off balance and completely exposed for the TD. When Jones grabs him he freezes like he was shot and fell forward like a first year HS wrestler. Never tried to lower his weight, fight the hands, spin away, quickly roll....he went down like a deadweight newbie and had zero counters on the ground. It was stunningly awful.....the result of his lack of basic ground skills resulted in a ridiculous submission, in 2 minutes, that surprised everyone, including the announcers.

Hard to say. So far he just seems to have low IQ and gives up big opportunities to his last few losses for the take down or top position. Like with Francis basically giving frank his leg for the round 4 takedown. And dropping back on a leg lock round 5 to give Frank top position again. And against Jon he admitted they trained to not throw the rear hand and play off his lead hand to not give Jon an easy in on the take down. And within 30 seconds Cyril did just that and got taken down. His defence might be good if he leverages it properly and keeps to a plan. But as it stands he leaves egregious openings.

Pretty average-bad TDD.

However Spivak has terrible cardio no?
